In recent years,a large number of surveys have shown that the physical and mental health of middle school students is not optimistic due to the pressure of learning and the increase of static behavior time.In order to implement the "sports and art 2+1project" and "campus sports activities for primary and middle school students at one hour every day",and to respond to the "sports break activities" to improve the physical and mental health of students,Latin dance has been vigorously carried out in schools of all levels and types in China since the 1990 s.At present,many studies believe that Latin dance can significantly improve the cardiopulmonary function,body fat composition,muscle strength,muscle endurance and flexibility of the human body,and has a significant effect on the physical self-concept and body self-esteem of practitioners.Therefore,this paper explores the influence of Latin dance on the physical health and physical self-concept of middle school girls by developing Latin dance courses for them.Objectives:By teaching Latin dance to girls in a middle school in Shanghai as exercise intervention,this paper discusses the influence of Latin dance on the physical and mental health of middle school students from two aspects: physical health and physical self-concept,so as to provide theoretical basis for improving the health level of middle school students.Methods:136 girls from Shanghai middle school were selected as the research object,and randomly divided into control group(68)and Latin dance teaching experimental group(68).The experimental group girls were taught Latin dance for 16 weeks,3times a week,each time 40 minutes,exercise intensity of moderate intensity,heart rate 124-166 times/min.Separate the junior middle school students before and after experiment,the physical fitness test(waist-to-hip ratio,BMI,body fat rate,large arm skin fold,abdominal skin fold,thighs skin fold,bench test and lungs)and physical self-concept(PSDQ)questionnaire,analysis of Latin dance exercise intervention on junior middle school students physical health and physical self-concept,and analyze the junior middle school students physical health and physical self-concept of inner link.Results:1.The effect of 1.Latin dance course on the body shape of junior high school girls :(1)the body shape of junior high school girls: compared with the girls in junior high school BMI、,the body fat rate and thigh skin fold thickness in the Latin dance experimental group were significantly decreased(P<0.05,0.01,0.01);(2)the body shape of junior high school girls: compared with the girls in junior high school,the body fat rate and thigh skin fold thickness in the Latin dance experimental group were significantly decreased(P<0.05).01).It shows that the intervention of Latin dance movement can have a positive effect on the improvement of body fat of junior high school girls.2.Latin dance course on the cardiopulmonary function of junior high school girls :(1)the change of physical function of junior high school girls: compared with the girls in the junior high school control group,the female step index of the Latin dance experimental group increased significantly(P<0.05),and the vital capacity increased significantly(0.01).(2)Changes of physical function of the second grade girls: Compared with the second grade girls in the second grade control group,the female in the Latin dance experimental group increased significantly in the step index(P<0.05),indicating that the Latin dance can significantly improve the cardiopulmonary function of the junior middle school girls.3.Latin dance course on the physical quality of junior high school girls :(1)the change of physical quality of junior high school girls: compared with the girls in the junior high school control group,the results of the four items of Latin dance experiment group: one minute sit-up,50 m running,in situ vertical jump and waist back muscle strength were all significantly improved(P<0.01,P<0.01,P<0.01,and0.01).It can be seen that Latin dance has a significant effect on the core and lower limb strength of junior high school girls.(2)The changes of physical quality of junior high school girls: one minute sit-up,800 m running,in situ vertical jump,one foot closed eye standing and back muscle strength were significantly improved(P<0.01,P<0.05,P<0.05,P<0.05).It shows that Latin dance can effectively enhance the core strength and lower limb strength of junior high school girls,and also has a positive effect on the improvement of balance ability and endurance level.4.Latin dance course on the physical self-concept of junior high school girls :(1)the change of physical self-concept of junior high school girls: compared with the girls of junior high school students,the scores of physical self-concept in the Latin dance experimental group were significantly improved,reflected in health,physical activity,sports ability,overall body,appearance,strength,flexibility and endurance(P<0.01,P<0.01,P<0.01,0.05,P<0.01,0.01,P<0.01,The changes of physical self-concept of junior high school girls were as follows: Compared with the junior high school girls,the scores of P< self-concept in the Latin dance group were significantly higher than those in the junior high school girls.It shows that Latin dance can effectively improve the physical self-concept level of junior high school girls.5.Correlation analysis of physical health and physical self-concept of junior high school girls :(1)there was a positive correlation between sitting position and body self-concept of junior high school girls(P<0.01),which was manifested in four dimensions: flexibility of body self-concept,body obesity,strength and physical activity(P<0.05 or 0.01).moreover,the 50 m running scores of junior high school girls were also positively correlated with body self-concept(P<0.01),which was manifested in the eight dimensions of body self-concept: body obesity,strength,self-esteem,sports ability,physical activity,endurance,coordination,flexibility(P<0.05 or P<0.01).(2)Correlation analysis of physical health and physical self-concept of junior high school students: the thickness of thigh skin fold was negatively correlated with physical self-concept(P<0.05),which was manifested in seven dimensions of physical self-concept: obesity,exercise ability,coordination,overall body,endurance,flexibility and physical activity(P<0.05 or P<0.01).At the same time,the step index of junior high school students was positively correlated with body self-concept,which was manifested in the four dimensions of body self-concept,endurance,exercise ability,strength and body obesity(P<0.05 or 0.01).furthermore,the scores of sitting position forward flexion of junior high school girls were positively correlated with body self-concept(P<0.05),which was manifested in seven dimensions: physical self-concept exercise ability,flexibility,health,strength,overall body,coordination and self-esteem.Moreover,the 50 m running scores of junior high school girls were positively correlated with physical self-concept(P<0.05),which was manifested in the nine dimensions of physical self-concept: exercise ability,coordination,endurance,flexibility,overall body,physical activity,physical obesity,strength and self-esteem(P<0.05 or 0.01).Conclusions:(1)Latin dance is conducive to improving the physical form,cardiopulmonary function and physical fitness of junior high school girls.(2)The improvement of Latin dance’s cognition level related to physical self-concept is mainly manifested in the improvement of body coordination,enthusiasm for participating in sports activities,sports ability,strength quality,sensitivity quality and endurance quality.(3)There is a significant correlation between some physical health indicators and physical self-concept of junior middle school girls.Specifically,the first grade girls showed significant positive correlation between sitting forward flexion and 50 m running and physical self-concept.The second grade girls had significant positive correlation with physical self-concept.
