With the deepening of the new round of curriculum reform in our country,higher standards have been set for both cultivating students' key competencies for different subjects and promoting the all-round development of students.Primary school education is the fundamental stage of students' all-round development.In primary school physical education,paying attention to develop students' key competencies for sports will improve students' sports ability,while helping students to establish good and healthy behavior,cultivating students' ability of team work,and making sure that the students can develop a lifelong sports awareness.This paper conducts its study using literature,expert interview,measurement,mathematical statistics,questionnaire and other experimental methods.Based on consulting the relevant literatures of key competencies,sports key competencies,and physical education classroom teaching methods,we determine the constituent elements of key competencies for sports,clarify the process of interactive learning and teaching methods on the development of key competencies for sports of primary school students,and explain the various teaching contents.In this paper,the fifth-grade students of Tianyiyuan Primary School are the experimental object,the students from class(4)in grade five are the experimental group,the students from class(1)in grade five are the control group.Before the experiment,the basic physical conditions,athletic ability,healthy behavior,and sports character of the students for the two classes were tested for differences.The results showed P>0.05,which indicates that there was no significant difference in the basic physical conditions and core physical qualities of the students in those two classes.Subsequently,two classes of students were taught for eight weeks,with two classes taught by the same teacher at the same location and around the same time period.The students in the experimental group used the group interactive learning and teaching mode to carry out the physical education teaching,whereas the students in the control group used the traditional teaching mathods to carry on the physical education teaching.Within two weeks after this experiment,the students in the experimental group and the control group were tested for sports ability,health behavior,sports character for differences again,and reached the following conclusion: the group interactive teaching model has a significant effect on students' athletic ability.The traditional teaching model has a significant effect on the speed quality,endurance quality and technical and tactical ability of students in terms of sports ability.In terms of healthy behavior and the improvement of the spirits of sports,the group interavtive teaching model is significantly more impactful for the students whereas the traditional teaching model does not have such significant effect on the students.Therefore,interms of developments of the effect on the core quality of physical education for primary school students,the group interactive learning and teaching method has more advantages than the traditional teaching model.
