| In recent years,High School Math Contest have attracted great attention from the Ministry of Education and all walks of life.On the one hand,the Ministry of Education stipulates that the results of Math Contest are no longer as the basis for enrollment in elementary and secondary schools,and some experts and scholars believe that Math Contest violate the physical and mental development of students and should not be promoted;On the other hand,the achievement of the Chinese Olympic Mathematics National Team in international mathematics competition have declined to some extent in recent years.Some experts and scholars believe that this is caused by the Ministry of Education discouragement of students to participate in High School Math Contest,And believe that the Math Contest is helpful to improve the students’ thinking ability,and it is conducive to the selection of outstanding mathematical talents.It should be vigorously developed.The purpose requires us to reasonably position the Math Contest,which requires a comprehensive understanding and have a good grasp of the current state of the study of Math Contest.However,at the stage,there are more studies on the status quo of Math Contest in more economically developed areas,but less on the status quo of mathematical competitions in underdeveloped areas.This paper will investigate the study of High School Math Contest in Wanzhou District.The main purpose of this study is to combine the survey data,regional characteristics,and characteristics of High School Math Contest,for put forward Teaching suggestions,learning suggestions,and then provide a reference for the local department to formulate a reasonable mathematical competition policy.In this study,students from five educational institutions such as Wanzhou District Urban Key A Middle School,Urban General B Middle School,Rural Key C Middle School,Rural General D Middle School,and F Education and Training Institutions were used as samples.The sample of students mainly includes mathematics competitions that have been studied or are being studied.Of students,as well as students of the same class who have never studied high school math competitions,are sampled.Through questionnaire surveys andactual surveys to study the development of the Wanzhou District High School Mathematics Competition,mainly including the way,purpose,content,efficacy,input,participation of students in the mathematics competition,the teaching situation of the mathematics competition,the mathematics competition for basic education Dimensional research on the impact of the study and the learning situation of students who have not studied the high school mathematics competition.The following conclusions were reached:1.High School Math Contest development status: Some key middle schools and educational institutions in the urban area have established Math Contest classes.Schools that have established Math Contest classes pay more attention to High School Math Contest.In rural middle schools,there are few Math Contest classes.At the same time,little attention is paid to High School Math Contest.2.Student participation status: Students who are studying or have studied Math Contest mainly from urban middle schools,only a few from rural middle schools.However,most students have never studied High School Math Contest.The main reasons are that students cannot found the ideal educational institutions and cannot been enrolled in Math Contest classes,and they cannot keep up with the learning progress.However,if condition permission,many students,who have never studied High School Math Contest,hope to participate in the study of High School Math Contest.At the same time,through regression analysis,it is found that,to some extent,the educational background of parents also affects whether students participate in High School Math Contest.3.Students learning High School Math Contest status: The biggest difficulty for high school students in the learning process is that they cannot understand the teachers explanations,can not do competition questions and have no opportunity to discuss with the teacher.Most of the reasons why students study High School Math Contest are that they like mathematics and find it very interesting,to improve their mathematics performance,mathematics ability,and interest in mathematics.Meanwhile,some students want to enter the ideal university,through studying Math Contest.Although students may experience stress or adverse effects in the learning process ofHigh School Math Contest,most students are still willing to continue to study High School Math Contest.4.Students gains status: through learning at High School Math Contest.The students has mainly increased their knowledge of mathematics,improved their scores in mathematics,increased their interest in learning mathematics,and learned to cooperate with others.5.Teachers teaching situation: In the teaching of High School Math Contest,teaching main method of teachers is to make students remember the existing conclusions and use the existing conclusions to solve problems.It did not explain the conclusion how to obtained,so that most students did not understand the conclusion better.At the same time,in the teaching process,teachers pay most attention to students’ speed about problem solving and whether to remember conclusions,etc.thus teachers neglect to cultivate students mathematical thinking and mathematical ability. |
