At present,the emphasis on mathematical literacy has become the trend of international mathematics education.In China,with the reform of basic education curriculum,mathematics curriculum and teaching in primary school have gone through different stages of evolution.It can be predicted that the goal of mathematical literacy will be gradually implemented in the compulsory education stage.As a part of mathematical literacy,data analysis literacy has not been paid enough attention in China,and empirical research is still in its infancy.Therefore,understanding the development of data analysis literacy levels of primary school students can enrich basic research,provide targeted suggestions for teaching,and improve the level of data analysis literacy of students.This study defines the connotation of data analysis literacy from two aspects,and divides the data analysis literacy into four dimensions: data collection and sorting,data description and representation,data analysis and inference,and data randomness,with a total of 8 indicators.At the same time,according to SOLO classification theory,the data analysis literacy is divided into four levels: pre-level 1,level 1,level 2 and level 3.On this basis,the preliminary test volume is compiled,and the final test volume is determined through testing of validity and reliability.The study took students from the second phrase of an ordinary primary school in Nanjing as the survey objects for testing.Based on the data collected from the survey,it is concluded that the data analysis literacy of the second phrase of primary school students is at level 1 as a whole.Pupils' ability to infer data is weak and they cannot fully understand the randomness of data.There are no significant differences in data analysis literacy between grade 4 and 5,but there are significant differences between grade 4 and 6,the same conclusion has found between grade 5 and 6.There is no significant correlation between gender and data analysis literacy;Mathematical performance is positively correlated with data analysis literacy;and this paper tries to explore the possible factors affecting the development of students' data analysis literacy from five aspects: curriculum standards,textbooks,examination evaluation,teachers' accomplishment and children's cognitive development.Finally,based on the conclusion of the empirical study and relevant literature,this paper puts forward some suggestions on how to cultivate students' data analysisliteracy from three aspects: curriculum design,teachers' accomplishment,and academic evaluation.
