Extracurricular reading is an indispensable part of Chinese learning,and extracurricular reading guidance is of great significance to improving students’ reading literacy.In order to explore how teachers can effectively guide junior high school students’ extracurricular Chinese reading at present,based on the2011 "Compulsory Education Chinese Curriculum Standards" and related theories of pedagogy and psychology,this article comprehensively uses the literature analysis method,questionnaire survey method,etc.Methods for research.The thesis is divided into four chapters.The first chapter investigates the current situation of junior high school students’ extracurricular reading and teachers’ guidance through questionnaires and teacher interviews.It is found that the current junior high school students have problems with single reading methods and random reading.It points out the problems in the current reading guidance and conducts attribution analysis.The second chapter is the study of the elements of extracurricular reading guidance in junior high school Chinese language.It analyzes the content of extracurricular reading guidance,the role and boundary of teachers in extracurricular reading guidance.On this basis,several aspects for teachers to improve in reading guidance are put forward: focusing on the systematic,gradual,and continuous nature of reading guidance;continuously improving their reading and education literacy;and actively creating a good reading atmosphere.The third chapter is the practical research of junior high school Chinese extracurricular reading guidance,which is studied from the following aspects: the determination of reading guidance goals,the expansion of reading content,the development of evaluation in reading guidance,and the application of methods.The last chapter is a case study.Firstly,the textbook design of the text expansion reading items is made using the textbooks of the seventh grade,the eighth grade,and the ninth grade as examples.Secondly,six works of three genres: novel,prose and poetry were selected for the case design of reading guides for famous books.
