Research On Chinese Popular Science Innovation From The Perspective Of STS

Science popularization is always playing an irreplaceable important role in the science development and the social progress as a major bridge between scientific technology and the society.With the wide and deep penetration of scientific technology,how to coordinate the mutual relationship among science,technology and society has become a major test to science popularization.The traditional science popularization work is trapped into the development difficult and is in urgent need to be innovated because it lacks of adaption to the social development and satisfaction to the public requirement.Firstly this paper introduces main thoughts and research methods of STS,it makes definition to the concept of science popularization from the perspective of STS and analyzes science popularization,public understanding about science and science communication;It introduces the components of scientific popularization system and analyzes the interaction influences of external environmental dimensions such as science popularization,politics,culture,scientific technology,etc.Then,this paper makes specific discussion as to the four stages of scientific popularization innovation career in our country since the founding of China and concludes innovation and development,problems and disadvantages of each stage.Conduct comprehensive reflections as to science popularization innovation career from the perspective of STS,develop analysis from factors of five aspects including insufficient security of political environment,insufficient support of economic environment,ineffective melting with scientific technology,insufficient demands on science popularization and in-conformity with social and cultural environment and conclude that there is no new demand that is accordance with the new situation,which is the crucial problem to restrain the efficiency of the current science popularization innovation career.Analyze the necessity and feasibility of science popularization innovation combining concept and methods of STS and further discuss the methods of science popularization innovation.Firstly,starting from the external environment,conclude the methods to optimize innovation and support environment putting science popularization system under the big environment of the society through analysis of interaction relationship between science popularization system and all kinds of dimension of the society.Secondly,analyze all kinds of elements of internal concept,subject,audience,content,method,form and interaction relationships between the element and system and conclude the methods to drive the integrated innovation through element innovation.Hereby,this paper puts forward six specific suggestions:Build service-oriented science popularization guiding by the public requirement;Develop culture-oriented science popularization focusing on science spirit;Build informationized science popularization relying on technical methods;Promote democratic science popularization focusing on public participation;Promote industrialized science popularization driving by market mechanism;Optimize the top design through strengthening the integrated interaction,so as to supply theoretical guidance and decision-making reference for promoting the new career science popularization innovation in our country.This research has always run through the values of STS,using a variety of means such as comparative analysis,examples and other means,to study the interactive relationship between science popularization system.In the vast social context,the analysis of the external environment and internal system of popular science innovation,the way and strategy of scientific innovation,has certain theoretical and practical significance.
