Research On Total Factor Productivity Of The National Industrial Transfer Demonstration Zone

In order to adapt to the new trends of industrial transfer at home and abroad,promote the orderly transfer of industries in the eastern coastal areas to the central and western regions,optimize the pattern of regional industrial division of labor,the state has established a demonstration zone for undertaking industrial transfer since 2010.On the one hand,the establishment of demonstration area promotes the optimization of the layout of the supporting industries and enhances the overall benefits of the regional economy.On the other hand,it also brought about a series of negative impacts such as environmental pollution and over-investment,which restricted the transformation and upgrading of the regional economy and sustainable development.As China's economy has shifted from high-speed growth to high-quality growth,upgrading total factor productivity has become the focus of change for regional economies to achieve high-quality growth and sustainable development.Therefore,whether the empirical research demonstration zone has a higher total factor productivity since the establishment of the demonstration zone has guiding significance for the utilization of undertaking industry transfer in the central and western regions to promote the improvement of regional economic quality.Firstly,this paper summarizes the relevant theories of industrial transfer,sorts out the literature on regional industrial transfer,the impact of setting up development zones on total factor productivity,and briefly reviews major research perspectives and important conclusions.Secondly,it summarizes the development status of the demonstration area,the policy support from the central government and local governments,and the mechanism of the influence of industrial transfer on regional total factor productivity.Thirdly,using the perpetual inventory method to measure the capital stock of local cities,and using Solow residual value method to calculate the total factor productivity of each demonstration area.Finally,this thesis analyzes the key influencing factors of total factor productivity in the national industrial transfer demonstration areas,With 26 demonstration areas as empirical research objects,Using the PSM-DID method,we studied the impact of the establishment of a demonstration area on regional total factor productivity.The results of the analysis show that the effect of the establishment of the demonstration area on the regional TFP is-0.072 and is significant at 5%level.It shows that the establishment of the demonstration area does not promote the improvement of total factor productivity in a short period of time.The inspection of the mechanism shows that the establishment of the demonstration area has promoted the improvement of the investment rate of fixed assets in a short period of time,but it has no obvious effect on other influencing factors,indicating that there are excessive financing and excessive investment in the demonstration area.At the end of this paper,based on the regression results,this paper proposes five measures to improve the total factor productivity of the demonstration area: investment cost-benefit analysis in the demonstration area,optimization of the business environment,increased support for basic scientific research,establishment of regional comparative advantages,and improvement of regional synergy linkage mechanisms.
