The Effect Of Grain Purpose And Land Transfer Experience On The Disparity Of Farmer's Land Transfer Willingness Price

The disparity between willingness to accept(hereafter WTA)and willingness to pay(hereafter WTP)is a universal phenomenon,so does farmer's willingness price of land transfer.If farmer's WTA of land transfer is much higher than others' WTP,then the land transfer will not happen.In order to analysis reasons of the disparity of farmer's land transfer willingness price,based on the 5 provinces 14 villages 447 households survey data,we use OLS,Ordinal Logistic model,General Interval Regression,Probit model to examine the effect of grain purpose and land transfer experience on the disparity of farmer's willingness price separately,and we also do the robustness test.The empirical results have five main finding.(1)The grain purpose makes the disparity of different farmers' WTA(WTP)in some way.In specific,as to WTA,the farmer who is pursing benefit has a higher WTA than the meeting rations,but the maintaining employment farmer has not a significant disparity between the meeting rations and pursing benefit;as to WTP,farmer's WTP increases steadily follows the meeting rations,maintain employment and pursuing benefit.(2)The land transfer experience reduces the disparity of farmer's WTA and WTP.Furthermore,as to the farmer who has not land transfer out experience,the land transfer out experienced farmer has a smaller WTA and WTP,one the other side,as to the farmer who has not land transfer in experience,the land transfer in experienced farmer has a higher WTA and WTP,but this effect is not stable.(3)Due to the disparity of contracted land' quality and the imperfect current land transfer market,the larger contracted area makes farmer's WTA and WTP change in the opposite way.(4)Because many rural labors do the off-farm work in their villages or counties,in spite of the agricultural labor increases,farmer's land transfer willingness does not enhance evidently,but becomes weakened.(5)Possessing the large-scale agricultural machine enhances farmer's willingness of land transfer in,but the larger age of head,the more average education years of labor and the higher non-agriculture income ratio reduce WTP,restrain farmer's willingness of land transfer in.According to the main results,we propose several suggestions and advices.(1)Chinese government should increase subsidies of large-scale machine,change their grain purpose into pursuing benefit.(2)Foster those farmers who have land transfer experience as a new type of agricultural operating entity,increase subsidies related to land scale management for those farmers.(3)Reduce the threshold of off-farm employment for creating more off-farm jobs.
