Research On The Impact Of American Intellectual Property Barriers On China's Technology-Intensive Product Exports

With the deepening development of knowledge economy and trade globalization,intellectual property has become an indispensable factor of production in today's society.In the process of trade globalization,its impact on national economy and trade is deepening day by day,and the competition for intellectual property among countries has entered a fierce situation.Although labor-intensive products are still the main export products of our country,with the call of the government's scientific and technological innovation,China's foreign trade structure began to transform and upgrade,product mix optimization,the proportion of technology-intensive products in exports continues to increase,the technological content of products increases,but also makes its own international competitiveness continue to improve.The developed countries feel threatened by the good transformation of China's foreign trade structure,so they carry out trade protectionism and use new concealed trade barriers to curb China's exports.Under the background of trade liberalization,traditional trade barriers are gradually weakening,and new trade barriers with intellectual property as the core are constantly developing.Intellectual property barriers have brought severe challenges to the export of technology-intensive products in China.The forms of intellectual property barriers imposed by developed countries on China's exports are various,including 337 investigations,Special 301 clauses,technical standard barriers to intellectual property and abuse barriers to intellectual property.More and more countries use intellectual property rights to set up barriers,especially in the United States.China is the largest trading partner of the United States.At the same time,China suffers the most from intellectual property barriers of the United States.China has become the main victim of the 337 U.S.investigations.The number of cases related to Chinese enterprises in 337 investigations is increasing every year,which has a great impact on the export of China's technology-intensive products.This paper takes intellectual property barriers as the research object,analyses the impact of American intellectual property barriers on China's technology-intensive products export,and sums up the impact of American intellectual property barriers on China's technology-intensive products export through relevant theoretical and empirical analysis combined with relevant research by domestic and foreign scholars.First,we have a thorough understanding of the relevant theories and manifestations of intellectual property barriers.We analyze the effects of intellectual property barrierson export trade from the aspects of export quantity,export price and terms of trade.Then we describe the current situation of our country's technology-intensive products exporting suffered from intellectual property barriers of the United States,and analyze the intellectual property barriers of our country's export from both internal and external aspects.The reason of the barrier is then discussed from an empirical point of view.The empirical results show that the degree of intellectual property protection in the United States and the US 337 survey on China will inhibit the export of China's technology-intensive products to the United States to a certain extent.In the end,the paper summarizes and further discusses the empirical results,and puts forward corresponding measures to solve the intellectual property barriers imposed by the United States on the export of technology-intensive products in order to improve our ability to deal with the intellectual property barriers imposed by the United States.
