Research On Regional Differences And Relations Between R&D Investment And Technological Innovation Performance

The sustainable development of economy is inseparable from technological innovation.The improvement of national scientific and technological level depends on the improvement of scientific research ability.R&D investment has an important impact on promoting innovation ability.The difference of regional development is produced in the process of regional development.Research on the relationship between R&D investment and technological innovation performance from the perspective of regional comparison is conducive to determining scientific and reasonable R&D investment intensity,realizing social stability,enhancing comprehensive national strength,promoting regional coordinated development and promoting economic development.Firstly,this paper reviews the domestic and foreign research literature on R&D investment and technological innovation performance and the regional difference theory.Secondly,each province in China is divided into three regions: eastern,central and western regions.The data from 2008 to 2017 are selected as samples.The total regional difference,inter-regional difference,intra-regional difference and regional difference in R&D investment and technological innovation performance are analyzed by using Theil index analysis method and Matlab software.Thirdly,the relationship between R&D input and technological innovation performance is studied by using Stata software.Finally,put forward rationalization proposal.The empirical analysis results show that the regional differences of R&D input and technological innovation performance show a trend of gradually narrowing and stabilizing with the change of years.The regional differences of R&D input are the main influencing factors of regional differences,and the regional differences of technological innovation performance are the main influencing factors of regional differences.The regional differences of technological innovation performance basically coincide with the changing trend of regional differences of R&D input.In the research on the relationship between R&D investment and technological innovation performance,R&D personnel input in basic research and experimental development has a significant positive impact on technological innovation performance,and R&D personnel input in experimental development has the greatest impact on technological innovation performance;government funds and enterprise funds have a significant positive impact on technological innovation performance,and enterprise funds have a greater impact on technological innovation performance.R&D investment in basic research and experimental development has a significant positive impact on technological innovation performance.The impact of R&D investment in experimental development on technological innovation performance is greater than that of basic research on technological innovation performance.The impact of R&D investment on technological innovation performance is different in different regions.On the basis of empirical research,this paper puts forward reasonable suggestions on reducing regional differences,improving the quality of R&D personnel investment,optimizing the structure of R&D capital investment,strengthening government guidance and giving full play to the role of enterprises.It is hoped that these suggestions can help to enhance regional innovation ability,realize the coordinated development of regional innovation and economic growth,and improve the quality and level of economic development.
