Company A Multi-project Management Application Research

With the increment of new products gradually,if enterprises develop many new products at the same time,there will inevitably arise issues such as conflicting use of resources and the lack of communication between multiple projects due to limited resources.As a leading company in the smart home industry,company A has a rich product line and a variety of product development,and the original project management method no longer meets the internal research and development status of the company.Therefore,it is necessary to establish a multi-project management system based on PMO in order to continuously improve Company A's project management capabilities and respond to fierce market competition.Based on the internal management status of Company A's R&D,we conducted investigation and analysis,and found the causes of the current situation.Finally,the necessity of implementing multi-project management based on PMO platform was put forward.Compared with the traditional project management model,multi-project management implementation will certainly face more obstacles.Therefore,corporate managers must screen,assesse and monitor of all projects by a strategic vision,which requires a department for comprehensive coordination such as project management office.In order to better implementing the multi-project management plan,the project management department would integrate and optimize the organizational structure,information system,documentation system and R&D process,which would fundamentally solve the problem of unclear responsibilities,not shared information,the loss of assets during organizational process,delayed plans and other issues.Then,the managements of demand,resources,progress and performance were fully implemented to enhance the company's management capabilities of R&D project on the optimized PMO platform.Finally,a case analysis method was used to verify the multi-project management plan,and then the effectiveness and feasibility of the plan will be obtained.It is hoped that it will be a reference for enterprises with similar status to build a multi-project management system based on PMO through the study of this paper.
