Research On Application Of PMO For Multi-project Management In Y Company

PMO(Project Management Office)has attracted worldwide attention and is being recognized by more and more organizations.Not only has the company started to build and own its own PMO,but it is also importing PMO for individual projects.In the actual management work,PMO gradually brings measurable value to the overall performance of the organization,which makes the organization benefit a lot in both strategic decision-making and management efficiency.In China,more and more organizations begin to invest resources and time to train their own management team.At the same time,many project-intensive organizations have begun to prepare and operate PMO in management.They have clearly realized that the improvement of an organization’s overall management ability depends not only on excellent project managers,but also,more importantly,on the establishment of mature and perfect groups.Textile architecture.With the maturity of management thinking and concept,PMO has also been growing.PMO is no longer just an administrative organization responsible for optimizing processes,providing templates and evaluating.Its goal is to ultimately achieve its strategic objectives by helping organizations to achieve the success of all projects.This paper mainly studies the preparation and application of PMO in the multi-project intensive management of large-scale manufacturing industry.It combines theory with practice.Through the detailed introduction of the related concepts and theories of project,project set,project portfolio and PMO,combined with the in-depth analysis of the problems and difficulties encountered in the current multi-project management of Y Company,it points out the necessity of establishing PMO in project-intensive manufacturing enterprises.Importantly,PMO should have basic functions in the actual management process and how to maximize these functions.Then,taking the current management system of Y Company as the research object,the feasibility and effectiveness of PMO in resolving risk,resources,communication and evaluation in multi-project management are proved by trying to design the optimization scheme of PMO in improving process and governance.Finally,the conclusion is drawn that the establishment and application of PMO can effectively improve the problems in multi-project management of large manufacturing industry and enhance its overall management level.Y company is a typical project-intensive organization in this paper.Through the research and summary of the process of establishing PMO and the implementation plan of the company,I hope to provide the theory and method for other similar organizations.
