Small and medium-sized enterprises(SME)has always been an important component of China's economic development,and play an irreplaceable role in solving employment and other issues related to national economy and people's livelihood.With the economic globalization,cross-border e-commerce,and the "One Belt and One Road" initiative proposed,more and more small and medium-sized enterprises participate in the international operation through export,and even some small and medium-sized enterprises directly realize Born Globalization.However,in the export process,small and medium-sized enterprises are often faced with liability of resources and scale,and they have to overcome liability of foreignness and newness when entering overseas markets.The existing studies on the export of small and medium-sized enterprises are mainly based on resource-based view,institutional theory,resource dependence theory and organizational learning theory to explore the impact of internal resources,ability and external environment on the export performance of enterprises,and have not really described the dynamic process of the export decision-making behavior of small and medium-sized enterprises.Considering that the internationalization behavior of small and medium-sized enterprises has gradually changed from "going it alone" to "going to sea together",in view of this,this article is based on social network theory and resource dependency theory,Through a three-month questionnaire survey of 168 small and medium-sized enterprises,this paper empirically analyzes the impact of SME network relationship on export performance,and analyzes the role of organizational innovation as a "bridge"between the two,and deeply discusses the moderating role of foreign market knowledge on the relationship between organizational innovation and export performance.Through empirical analysis,this paper finds that the network relationship of SME plays a positive role in promoting export performance,and organizational innovation transmits the influence of network relationship on export performance.In addition,foreign market knowledge plays a positive moderating role in the relationship between organizational innovation and export performance.This study enriches and improves the influence mechanism of export performance of small and medium-sized enterprises from the aspects of theory and practice.First of all,this study enriches the previous studies on the factors influencing the export performance of SMEs.Existing studies explore the influence factors of small and medium-sized enterprises to export performance from the environment perspective,such as national policy,industrial structure and national macro environment.This study focused on individual network of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs,from a strategic management perspective,based on the small and medium-sized entrepreneurs as an important role,the key decision makers a further depict the small and medium-sized enterprise decision-makers individual level factors effects on export performance of the micro mechanism.In addition,this study provides practical guidance for Chinese SMEs to "go global" and realize internationalization.In particular,under the shadow of the adverse international environment such as the trade war and trade protectionism,how can small and medium-sized enterprises overcome the disadvantages of their own size and the disadvantages of outsiders,break through the external uncertainties and threat barriers,and achieve a leapfrog improvement in export performance by building their own network relations.
