With the improvement of people's health awareness and the deepening of globalization,medical devices have been more widely used by people,the international status of medical devices has also rapidly improved,and the trade of medical devices has become more popular.In the process of developing the medical device trade,we are more concerned about the expansion of the medical device trade scale,and relatively speaking,we have ignored the improvement of the medical device trade quality For this reason,based on the perspective of trade value,this article further explores the current status and influencing factors of trade in medical devices and their sub-sectors from the perspective of trade quality.This paper draws on the calculation method of export technology complexity proposed by Hausmann,and calculates the medical device export technology complexity index of the medical device trade export product level and national level from 2001 to 2018.In addition,the article selects 42 countries' health expenditure,human capital,R&D investment,population,import trade,foreign investment,natural resources,and the proportion of aging and other variables,using a multinational panel data model to try to analyze the impact of various variables on the export technology content of overall medical device products,high-end medical device products,low-end medical device products,medical device products in developed countries,and medical device products in developing countries.Finally,based on the previous conclusions and China's actual situation,further empirical analysis of the important factors that affect the level of China's medical device export technology.After research,we can conclude that the share of medical device trade in developing countries is huge compared with developed countries.The export technology value of medical device products in most developing countries is lower than that in developed countries.As a typical representative of developing countries,China has a relatively low export complexity index for medical devices.Since the reform and opening up,China has quickly ranked among the top of GDP in terms of its own advantages and strong development momentum.However,due to the huge population size of China,there is still a certain gap between the per capita level and that of developed countries,which is more prominent in the field of livelihood of medical devices.However,after years of development and the deepening of globalization,the gap between the two is gradually narrowing.Secondly,through empirical analysis of multi-dimensional influence factors,it is found that increasing the investment in health,strengthening the training of talents,rationally utilizing internal and external resources,and adjusting the population structure can effectively increase the technical content of medical device products in a country.Finally,based on the above research conclusions,we provide reasonable targeted recommendations for improving the export technical level of China's medical device products.
