| In China, under the background that Targeted Poverty Alleviation has entered a new stage of "decisive battle, decisive victory and comprehensive conclusion",focusing on the prominent problem of "two guarantees and three guarantees"(poor people do not have to worry about food and clothing and have access to compulsory education, basic medical services and safe housing),based on the multidimensional poverty theory, this study firstly constructs the pro-poor tourism performance evaluation index system.Six pro-poor tourism demonstration sites in Fenghuang County are taken as examples to measure the pro-poor tourism performance based on the perception of poverty-stricken residents by the analytic hierarchy process(AHP)and the comprehensive index method.Secondly, the independent sample T test and one-way ANOVA are employed to identify the perception differences of poor residents with different personal and family characteristics in pro-poor tourism performance.Lastly, the stakeholder theory is applied to establish the representation system of driving factors for pro-poor tourism performance.Exploratory factor analysis, pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis are used to clarify the key factor that affects pro-poor tourism performance in demonstration sites. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)Pro-poor tourism performance of the demonstration site in Fenghuang County is remarkable. The average value of pro-poor tourism performance, which is comprehensively weighted is 3.003.However,there is still much room for improvement.Specifically, the score of economic performance is the highest(0.8559),while the score of education, training and medical health is lower(0.3496,0.3114).(2)In terms of the pro-poor tourism performance indicators,poverty-stricken residents with different gender, age, education level, household labor force and per capita household income have different perceptions of the impacts of pro-poor tourism.Concretely speaking, the performance perception of poverty-stricken residents with different gender and per capita family income varies in six dimensions, including economic level, living conditions and education. However, there are differences in the perception of socioculture performance and ecological environment performance among the poverty-stricken residents with different household labor force and age.(3)At the level of stakeholders, government assistance and regulation, endogenous driving force of poverty-stricken residents and tourists’ love assistance play a significant positive role in promoting pro-poor tourism performance in the demonstration sites, while the participation of tourism enterprises in poverty alleviation presents a significant negative role. With regarding to control variables, gender, age and per capita household income negatively affect the pro-poor tourism performance, while education level has a significant positive effect on the pro-poor tourism performance.Taking into account the above conclusions, this study constructs a long-term mechanism of stable tourism poverty alleviation from four stakeholders as government, enterprises, poor residents and tourists,so as to provide policy inspiration and theoretical guidance for preventing the demonstration sites from returning to poverty and escaping from the poverty trap. |
