Study On The Impact Of China's Overseas Key Projects In Djibouti

The ”21st Century Maritime Silk Road” with key ports as nodes is a part of the ”The Belt and Road” initiative,so as to play the role of ports and hubs in he Asia-Europe-Africa maritime trade channels.East Africa,as a key area for ”The Belt and Road” to move Africa,is the starting point for Chinese corporate investment,and Djibouti,which is an important hub for eastern Africa,has become one of the main countries for China-Africa cooperation.The cooperation between China and Djibouti has promoted the development of ”The Belt and Road”.Under the guidance of geopolitical theory,regional choice theory and free economic zone theory,this paper regards the cooperative development between China and Djibouti as research object.By introducing concentration ratio of container port and RCI of port,to evaluate the construction potential of East African ports.It is found that the spatial structure of the port tends to be scattered,and the port has great investment potential.The construction of Djibouti's Chinese military base and the growing trade relations between China and Djibouti,which emphasizes the importance of strategic geographical location of Djibouti and points out the importance and necessity of China's investment and construction in Djibouti.Taking Doraleh Port and Djibouti international free trade zone as examples,by analyzing the project's construction planning,operating model and development benefits,the economic benefits brought by the cooperation between China and Djibouti are summed up,objective environmental problems and legal disputes involved in the cooperation are showed clearly in this paper.Based on all researches in the paper,conclusion can be reached that standardized corporate order and localization of the park are the keys to the development of the Djibouti International Free Trade Zone.Chinese enterprises should strengthen political and cultural exchanges with Djibouti,build a scientific risk warning mechanism and a docking platform to provide technical assistance and support for the construction of Djibouti.When selecting the site of overseas construction parks and ports,China needs to pay much attention on the selection of strategic port position,avoid legal disputes caused by investment operations and properly deals with the risks in the process of construction.
