Township homes for the aged is a non-profit organization providing elderly care services for rural residents.Its development began in the 1950 s,on the basis of the government’s guarantee for rural residents.With the party and the country to the rural pension service security of the bottom of the attention,township homes will become an important place for rural elderly care,and township homes have become an important way for rural elderly care.How to adapt to the life of nursing home will have an important influence on the living condition and quality.The research mainly uses the interview method and the observation method,takes the village five guarantees household old people living in the township nursing home as the research object.After comprehensive consideration,S town nursing home was selected as the field site.After the introduction of the President,all the old people with clear consciousness in the hospital were observed and interviewed one by one.From the five guarantees the elderly adapt to the living environment and lifestyle as well as the personal relationship and psychological adaptation of four dimensions.According to the interview,the four themes of adapting to the living environment and lifestyle are peace of mind,"turning a blind eye",formal management,solo music and mass music.Nursing homes for the elderly to provide a comfortable and safe living environment,to meet the physiological and safety needs of the elderly,in the face of compound life gradually formed a "blind" contact rules;Faced with the formal management system,the elderly took the initiative to adjust their living habits to adapt to the daily management of the hospital;Under the limited infrastructure conditions,the old people enjoy themselves alone or gather with the masses to obtain the pleasure in life,and form a harmonious living atmosphere,so as to effectively interact with others and win face to meet the needs of being respected.Personal relationship and psychological adaptation are expounded from four themes: relationship,facing death,identity and being,and negation and inaction.The old people in the five guarantees family adapt to the life of the nursing home by constantly adjusting their interpersonal relationship,namely,establish the relationship between the residents and the managers,meet the daily communication needs in daily life and seek the dependent objects in life;In the kinship relationship,the old gradually passively accept and rationalize the change of their relationship;In the face of death,the five guarantees experienced the initial fear of sadness to the present indifferent;Identification and negation are the attitudes of the elderly towards themselves and the nursing home gradually formed in the life of the nursing home,and the corresponding behavior forms to adapt to the life of the nursing home,that is,positive action and negative action.
