Under the background of the deepening construction of CAFTA and the impact of "One Belt And One Road",China and ASEAN have jointly promoted economic and trade exchanges and pushed forward coordinated development and progress.China is the largest trading partner of ASEAN.ASEAN is China's second largest trading partner,third largest export market and second largest source of imports,accounting for more than 10% of China's total foreign trade.China is a large country of apple production,ranking first in the world in terms of apple planting area and yield.But there is a big problem between Chinese apple exports and production,with Chinese apple exports accounting for about 3% of world output and only about 2% of world apple exports.At the same time,China's apple export is faced with the problems of relatively single varieties and rising production costs.In 2018,China's Apple exported about 550,000 tons to ASEAN and exported about $730 million,accounting for more than half of China's Apple exports to the world.ASEAN is an important market for China's apple export,which is particularly important to enhance the competitiveness of our products.After collecting a lot of data and consulting relevant literature,this paper firstly introduces the planting area,yield,variety and export scale of apple in the China,so as to form an overall understanding of apple trade.Secondly,this paper expounds the present situation of China Apple's export to ASEAN,and then selects two international competitiveness measures: international market share(MS)and revealed comparative advantage index(RCA)to analyze the competitiveness of China's export to ASEAN Apple.The research shows that the competitiveness of apple export to ASEAN is high,but in recent years,the competitiveness is declining.Based on this situation,one dependent variable and seven explanatory variables were introduced using the extended gravity model.the results showed that ASEAN countries' gross domestic product,apple production in China,population of ASEAN countries,average price of Chinese apple exports to ASEAN,degree of economic openness of ASEAN countries," whether or not is a member of APEC " were the facilitating factors,while the geographical distance between China and ASEAN was the hindrance factor.Finally,the paper puts forward some suggestions to improve the apple competitiveness of China from the government,associations,enterprises,farmers and other main levels.
