Research On The Influence Of Trade Facilitation On The Status Of The Global Value Chain Of Manufacturing

With the rise of the global value chain,the pattern of international division of labor and of international trade have been changed,and more countries have been included in the global production system.Manufacturing is the main body of the real economy,and it is also the main industry that is most widely and deeply affected by the global value chain.Since China's reform and opening up,especially after joining the World Trade Organization,China has actively integrated into the global value chain system and has become the largest manufacturing country of the world.However,China's manufacturing industry is large but not strong.It is in a downstream position in the global value chain and faces the dilemma of "low-end locking".Besides,according to the Economic and Social Development Achievement Report of the 70 th Anniversary of the Founding of New China issued by the National Bureau of Statistics,China has grown to be the largest country in global trade in goods,and international trade has played a significant role in our national economy.The 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward for the first time the construction of a strong trade country,which shows that our country is paying more and more attention to the important role of trade in China's economic development.In addition,in recent years,China has intensified its efforts to reform the business environment,and China's business environment ranking has risen sharply and the reform of cross-border trade facilitation is included.Therefore,this thesis studies the relationship between the global value chain of manufacturing and trade facilitation,and examines how the improvement of the level of trade facilitation affects the status of the global value chain of manufacturing,which has strong practical significance as well as strong theoretical significance.Based on the existing research,this thesis first theoretically explores the mechanism of trade facilitation affecting the status of the global value chain of manufacturing.Then,this thesis measures the status of the global value chain of manufacturing and trade facilitation level of 58 sample countries in 2010-2017,and analyzes the current situation of the two.Afterwards,this thesis examines how the improvement of trade facilitation level influences the status of the global value chain of manufacturing in these countries from the empirical perspectives.The conclusion of this thesis shows that the status of the global value chain of manufacturing and the level of trade facilitation show a significant positive U-shaped relationship in these countries.The results of the heterogeneity analysis show that the regression results of developing countries are basically consistent with the overall sample,and the improvement of trade facilitation will significantly enhance the status of the global value chain of manufacturing in developed countries.Based on the conclusions and the current situation of China,this thesis finally puts forward some relevant policy suggestions on how to deal with the relationship between the improvement of trade facilitation and the enhancement of the status of the global value chain of manufacturing.
