| Sexually aggressive behavior has been a topic of concern for quite some time. Recent studies indicate that a rising number of offenses for this behavior are being committed by college age members of an athletic team and/or social fraternity. This project was developed to add to the already existing research on these offenders.;The basis of this project was the comparison between the level of sexually aggressive behavior exhibited by athletes and social fraternity/sorority members (Greeks) versus those individuals who are not members of these groups. This study was conducted on a mid-size Midwestern university campus and used a descriptive, cross-sectional analysis with a self-survey design as the research method.;The overall results indicated that college age athletes did report higher levels of sexually aggressive behavior than individuals who were not athletes. The response rate for Greeks/Non-Greeks, however, was too low to make any discernible inferences about the groups. |
