Abstract/Summary:
There has been much research regarding delinquency as a high incidence behavior disorder. The effects these individuals' behaviors have had on their educational experiences are paramount. A great deal of the research has evolved toward a social learning theory perspective. The growing incidence of the types of behavior exhibited by students in the community and in the classroom is in need of further scrutiny and concerted efforts at change. Theory-to-practice approaches have yielded important information useful in educating these children effectively, yet the potential of these approaches has not been fully realized. More data regarding delinquents' own perceptions of their educational experiences and self-efficacy in that domain should provide future researchers and educators a more convergent direction in which to aim their efforts.
