The effect of a manager's work environment (field vs. headquarters) on the level of burnout experienced was investigated. Symptoms, diagnostic tools, possible causes, and prevention of burnout are explained. The Maslach Burnout Inventory - General Survey (MBI-GS) was used to measure employees' level of burnout. The results did not support the hypothesis that there is a difference in burnout levels, as measured by the Maslach Burnout Inventory - General Survey, depending on an employee's work environment (headquarter vs. field employee). This suggests that an employee's work location may not affect the level of burnout an employee experiences. |
