Project schedule Management is the process of using various methods and tools to make effective progress models.By considering the project resources resource constraints and logical order,as well as the use of suitable methods and tools to make scientific project schedule,project schedule and implement of effective control measures,timely completion of the project could be achieved and cost could be controlled.Taking the production line reconstruction project of BG steel tube business unit as the background,as well as using the methods of literature research,survey research,qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis and other methods,this paper launched a series of work,such as analyzing the process of logical relations and resource constraints on the basis of project WBS decomposition,drawing project network diagram,fixing the critical chain of the project,eliminating the process safety time,setting the project buffer and the input buffer.While calculating the buffer,a scientific algorithm which takes into account the time elasticity coefficient,the process position weight and the uncertainty factors,is used.Finally,the benchmark plan containing the project buffer is obtained.And then,the project monitoring and control work is carried out to ensure the implementation of the project schedule objectives.Research on the project progress management in this paper solves the overdue problem caused by delay of some processes.While this paper propose a scheme covering project duration estimation,the project time redundancy elimination,buffer setting,benchmark scheduling plan,project schedule controlling solution that has the reference value for the similar production line renovation projects.
