Polyester is a typical synthetic hydrophobic fiber and has poor water absorption because it lacks hydrophilic groups in the molecular structure.It is easy to generate static electricity.However,polyester fiber has high modulus,high strength and stability,good runability and are widely used in clothing and household products.At present,there are many hydrophilic finishing agents on the market and have a certain hydrophilic and hygroscopic finishing effect.However,there are generally problems of poor antistatic and washing durability of finished fabrics.A new type of polyester moisture wicking finishing agent was synthesized based on the polyester polyether hydrophilic finishing agents.The cationic quaternary ammonium salts was selected to improve the fabric moisture absorption and quick-drying with good antistatic performance and washing resistance.Dodecyl bis(hydroxyethyl methyl ammonium chloride),dimethyl terephthalate(DMT),ethylene glycol(EG)and polyethylene glycol(PEG)were used as raw materials through transesterification and polycondensation reactions.The results shows that it can improve the hydrophilicity and moisture absorption,antistatic and durability of the fabric.The synthesis process conditions and finishing process optimization of finishing agents are also explored.The main conclusions are as follows.A new type of copolymer was synthesized by chain polycondensation of dodecyl dihydroxyethyl methyl ammonium chloride and polyester polyether.The technological conditions of the synthesis experiment were studied.L9(34)orthogonal test was designed to test the application performance of the synthesized products under various factors and horizontal conditions.The synthesis process was optimized by range analysis.The optimum synthesis conditions of finishing agent are as follows:the molecular weight of PEG is 2000,the molar ratio of ethylene terephthalate(DMT)to PEG is 3:1.2,the molar ratio of polyethylene glycol to quaternary ammonium salt is 1:0.37,the polycondensation temperature is 250?,and the reaction time is 30min.Infrared spectrometry analysis shows that dodecyl dihydroxyethyl methyl ammonium chloride is linked to the macromolecular chain of the finishing agent.Thermogravimetric analysis shows that the finishing agent has good thermal stability.The dip-padding was used to finish polyester fabric.The optimum process conditions are as follows:two dips and two rolls,the rolling residue rate is 70%,the dosage of finishing agent is25g/L,the fabric drying condition is 105?×10min,the baking temperature is 170?,and the baking time is 60s.The optimum process conditions of the impregnation method are as follows:the amount of finishing agent is 20%(o.w.f),the bath ratio is 1:15,the impregnation temperature is60?,the impregnation time is 30min,the drying condition of the fabric is 105?×10min,the baking temperature is 170?,and the baking time is 60s.The finishing agent was compared with similar products sold in the market.The polyester fabric was finished by the optimal dipping finishing process.The hydrophilic hygroscopicity,quick drying and washing resistance of the fabrics finished with each finishing agent were tested.The results show that the polyester fabric finished with self-made finishing agent has better hydrophilic hygroscopicity,antistatic property,good quick-drying and washing resistance than similar products sold in the market.
