The gear shaper cutter is one of the tools used to machine gears using the spreading method.The accuracy of the gear shaper cutter directly affects the accuracy of the gears.The variety of gear shaper cutter tooth shapes leads to a variety of conical grinding wheel cross-section shapes for grinding gear shaper cutter using the spreading method.In this paper,the bevel grinding wheel with variable center distance is used to grind the tooth face of the gear shaper cutter.This grinding method can grind the two tooth sides of the tooth groove at one time and then carry out split grinding,and at the same time,the lateral back angle of the gear shaper cutter can be ground.In order to improve the accuracy and efficiency of grinding wheel grinding and to facilitate the operation of the machine tool,this paper intends to develop a set of CNC code automatic programming software for the CNC grinding machine for gear cutters.The software can input the shaper parameters and DXF files,calculate the shaper tooth shape and the corresponding grinding wheel cross-section,and finally automatically generate the CNC codes for shaper machining and grinding wheel dressing to drive the machine tool for shaper grinding and grinding wheel dressing.Finally,we summarize the research contents of this paper as follows:(1)Analyze the motion required for grinding the gear shaper cutter with variable center distance of the tapered grinding wheel and the common tooth shape of the gear shaper cutter,establish the mathematical model of the mapping between the grinding wheel shape and the gear shaper cutter tooth surface,calculate the grinding wheel cross-sectional shape for different gear shaper cutter tooth shapes,and obtain the parameters for grinding the gear shaper cutter tooth surface with the tapered grinding wheel.(2)Analyze the grinding process of the tooth surface of the gear shaper cutter,and analyze the factors affecting the tooth surface finish in order to ensure the accuracy of the tooth surface of the gear shaper cutter.Analyze the grinding wheel dressing method and plan the grinding wheel dressing path.(3)The software for automatic generation of NC code of special NC grinder for gear shaper cutter is developed with C # language and Visual Studio development tool.Through this software,we can input the parameters of gear shaper cutter,input the DXF file of gear shaper cutter,calculate the tooth profile of gear shaper cutter and grinding wheel,display the tooth profile of gear shaper cutter and grinding wheel,save the parameters of gear shaper cutter and generate NC code.(4)According to the actual grinder structure,the grinding simulation model is built in VERICUT software to verify the correctness of the grinding method and the NC code generated by the software.In this project,the tapered grinding wheel with variable center distance is used to grind the tooth face of the gear shaper cutter,and the mathematical model of grinding wheel cut-off is established according to the tooth face grinding motion,and the grinding wheel cut-off corresponding to different tooth shapes is calculated.The CNC programs for tooth grinding and grinding wheel dressing were prepared by analyzing the tooth grinding process and grinding wheel dressing process of the insert cutter.The CNC code programming software is developed according to the software requirements,which improves the efficiency of grinding wheel profile calculation and tooth grinding of gear shaper cutter.
