Research On The Spatial Imagery Of Wordsworth’s Poetry

Wordsworth thinks that poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful emotion.A good poem is not a poet’s brainstorming,but a natural expression of emotion.Wordsworth ’s lyric poetry is a banner in the history of romantic poetry.The poet constructs multiple spaces in the poem,and forms a unique spatial narrative pattern by combining various images.Sky space,forest space,home space and death space are the representatives of Chinese poetry space writing.They jointly support the emotional theme of space imagery in poetry creation,covering the narrative features of space imagery.Wordsworth’s spatial writing was not born out of thin air,but was born under the collision of historical and cultural background,literary thoughts and poetic poetic thought.This article has five parts.In the introduction,I sort out and analyze the research status of Wordsworth’s poetry at home and abroad,and explain the source and significance of the topic selection under the theoretical background of poetic narration.The second part sorts out the spatial types in Wordsworth’s lyric poems.After statistical analysis,Wordsworth’s poems present four types of space,namely Sky space,forest space,home space and death space.The third part studies the image characteristics of Wordsworth’s poetry,including the emotional theme and narrative features in Chinese poetry.Among them,the writing of emotional themes includes four themes of pursuing ideals,enlightening inspiration,innocence staying in search of beauty,returning to homes and nurturing hope,and eternal beauty and returning calm.The narrative features include the study of the spatial image of the dispelled natural attributes presented in Chinese poetry,the narrative sequence of the serial connection of spatial images,the multiple spatial images of juxtaposition transformation,and the spatial image of jumps and connections.The fourth part analyzes the reasons of Wordsworth’s space writing,from the "escape" and "return" of Wordsworth in the background of the times,the literary thoughts surge in the emotional settlement of Chinese Wordsworth and the Wordsworth poetry Three aspects of the ideological characteristics of the embarked on inquiry.The fifth part is the conclusion of the full text.By sorting out the full text,it is clear that the study of spatial imagery has a pioneering value and significance to the research field of Wordsworth’s poetry.
