Idioms,as a special existence in Chinese vocabulary,contain rich cultural connotations,so idiom teaching is more difficult.Chinese textbooks are the hub connecting foreign students and classrooms,which are very important in the process of Chinese teaching.Whether the idioms included in the textbook can be reasonably arranged will affect the teaching effect and acquisition level.In view of this,this paper attempts to investigate and discuss the arrangement of idioms in the two textbooks of "Short-Term Spoken Chinese"(Intermediate and Advanced),and analyzes the arrangement characteristics of idioms in the two textbooks.On this basis,the paper makes some suggestions on idiom arrangement and teaching in the two textbooks are put forward.The first chapter is the introduction,summarizing the reason and significance of the topic selection,reviewing the previous research results and expounding the research methods.From Chapter Two to chapter Five,the arrangement level of idioms included in the two intermediate and advanced textbooks of "Short-Term Spoken Chinese " was investigated to explore the characteristics of idiom arrangement.First of all,we statistically analyzed the number,grade distribution,reproduction rate and presentation mode of idioms in the two intermediate and advanced textbooks,and found that the total amount of idioms is large and the presentation mode is diverse,but the distribution of single lessons is uneven,the super-outreach rate is high,and the recurrence rate is low.Secondly,on the basis of quantitative investigation of idioms,we explore the difficulty of idioms from three aspects that are the origin,internal structure and stylistic color of idioms.Through statistical analysis,we find that the internal structure of idioms is mainly juxtaposing,partial formal and subject-predicate,and there are three relationships among morphemes that are near-meaning,counter-meaning and near-meaning antisense opposite.Idioms are moderately difficult and heavy in spoken language,which meet teaching material compilation style.Thirdly,we explore the annotation and practice arrangement of idioms in the two intermediate and advanced textbooks of "Short-Term Spoken Chinese",and foundthat the idioms in the two textbooks are mainly based on the overall interpretation,and there is no morpheme analysis of idioms containing uncommon words.The two textbooks did not pay attention to the after-class explanation of idioms,which is not conducive to students’ understanding and memory of idioms.Idiom exercises are mainly about comprehension and communicative questions,but the degree of practice is not high,and the questions are not rich enough and lack of interest.In general,the idiom arrangement in the advanced part of "Short-Term Spoken Chinese" has its own distinct characteristics.Finally,based on the above results,we put forward four Suggestions: selecting idioms in class,improving the recurrence rate of idioms,strengthening notes after class,and enriching practice forms.According to the teaching of idioms,four teaching strategies are given,such as structural morpheme analysis,game scene combination,cultural story display,and explicit use of collocation.
