Under the guidance of the strategy of innovation-driven development,Moutai Group is expanding overseas market actively.The group tries to promote “Cultural Moutai” around the world.However,there are few published target texts for that purpose,and the translation quality is low,too.This affects Moutai’s overseas sales.To improve the international influence of the brand,some publicity texts urgently need to be translated.From April 2020 to January 2021,the author worked as an intern in Ningxia Diderenhe Science,Industry and Trade Co.,Ltd..During this period,she completed the Chinese-English translation of some publicity texts.This report is based on this translation.The source text contains 16,440 Chinese characters,and 60 days is required for the translation work.The author makes sufficient pre-translation preparations in advance.Firstly,she reads the source text to gain an in-depth understanding;Then she chooses the appropriate theory as her guidance;thirdly,she reads many parallel texts,and strives to obtain the closest natural equivalents in the target language.Thus,she completes the first draft.After revisions,she submits the final version on time,which satisfies the company’s stipulated standards.Under the guidance of Skopos Theory,the author puts forward some strategies.At first,the report offers an analysis of the publicity text at lexical,syntactic and cultural levels.According to Skopos Theory,she analyzes typical cases and concludes that a translator should follow the skopos rule,coherence rule and fidelity rule.To make target readers understand the source text in content and connotation,she devises the following strategies: Taking target readers into consideration,recasting the original sentence,deleting redundant expressions and amplifying the original message.The author wishes the report can enrich the current research samples,and facilitate an effective publicity.To improve the effect of publicity,the author proposes some strategies,hoping to provide a reference for other publicity-text translators.
