A Report On Interpreting Practice In 16^th Global University Network Conference

From November 19 to 21,2019,the author was one of the volunteers for the 16 th Global University Network Conference and provided interpreting for 3 days,leaving the transcript of interpreting in 10 thousand words.In this practice,many problems that the author encountered are worth a detailed analysis and it’s necessary to provide an insight to cross-cultural factors.Based on the theory of Intercultural Communication Competence(ICC),this report gives a real description about the whole interpreting practices,from pre-interpreting,interpreting practice,to analysis and conclusion.Interpreting problems and analysis are the crucial parts of this report,which unveils four major interpreting problems in the practice: expressions with Chinese characters,terminologies,titles and language problems of the speakers.The report,with the aid of the theory,categorizes the problems with detailed strategies against them.And it is expected to improve the author’s interpreting quality and provide references for international conferences in the future.
