A Practice Report On Simultaneous Interpreting With Drafts For Baoding East Lake Cloud Station Of 2019 International Passive House Conference

As one of the conference interpreters of Baoding East Lake Cloud Station of 2019 International Passive House Conference,the author undertakes the simultaneous interpreting with drafts for the two main speakers’ speeches.The interpreting contents mainly involve the company introduction and the development of passive houses.This report is based on the whole process and review of the interpreting practice task.Skopos theory is the theoretical basis for the application of this report.By expounding the relationship between the three principles of Skopos theory and different interpreting strategies,the author points out the guiding role of the theory and interpreting strategies in the completion of interpreting tasks and the importance of them in the author’s post-interpreting reflection.This report is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the task description,which briefly introduces the source,value,key and difficult points of the task.The second chapter is the task process description,which includes three stages: pre-interpreting,interpreting and post-interpreting.The third chapter introduces in detail the importance of pre-interpreting preparations,including the glossary and theoretical preparation.The fourth chapter explains the advantages and defects of this practical task combined with different cases and corrects or analyzes the mistakes and advantages combined with the three principles of Skopos theory.At last,the author summarizes the experience and lessons learned from this task and points out some qualities that a qualified interpreter should have.
