There are many works of meticulous flower and bird paintings in the history of Chinese painting,which can not only express the dynamic natural forms of plants and animals,but also pay more attention to the profound meaning of the spiritual level of the works,and these works use animals and plants to place their sincere feelings and the future of a better life.Crane is beautiful and elegant,often representing the character of a noble gentleman.Therefore,the theme of cranes has been pursued and loved by many famous artists of previous dynasties.This paper starts from Tang Dynasty to sort out the works of crane subjects,and focuses on the analysis and research of Ming Dynasty painters such as Bian Jingzhao and Lin Liang,and summarizes the artistic expression of the works of crane subjects in the Ming Dynasty.The paper is described in detail from four chapters: The first chapter briefly introduces the cultural connotation of "Crane" in Chinese traditional painting,combs the paintings of famous artists in the past dynasties and lists in detail the works of cranes in the Ming Dynasty flower and bird painting;The second chapter is to understand the representative painters and their representative works of cranes in the flower and bird paintings of the Ming Dynasty,respectively mentioning Bian Jingzhao and "Bamboo Crane Picture",Lin Liang and "Song Crane Picture",Lu Ji and "Plum Blossom Double Crane Picture";The third chapter discusses the artistic expression of crane-themed works in Ming Dynasty flower-and-bird paintings from three aspects: composition style,pen and ink language,and random coloring;The fourth chapter narrates the author’s practice process in creating the "Plate" series of paintings,and shows the inspiration gained from the works of cranes.
