| The translation is the act of transforming information in one language into information in another language on the basis of accuracy,fluency,and elegance.It is a bridge between one’s own culture and foreign culture.[3]The Translation is also a medium for people of different languages and cultural backgrounds to communicate,exchange ideas,and realize mutual understanding.Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,General Secretary Xi Jinping has proposed cultural self-confidence and let our excellent culture go out.How to make many Chinese literary works go abroad has become the mission of the majority of translators in the new era.The novel The Ordinary World was published in 1988.The book takes China’s mid-70s to mid-80s as a background and mainly tells the development of social life in northern Shaanxi during that period.Through the translation of this work,the translator will enable more people to know the development of social life in Northwest China during this period.The translator chooses Skopos Theory as the translation guidance method of The Ordinary World.In this novel,three chapters are selected for translation,the problems encountered in the translation process are carefully analyzed,and the solutions used in the translation process are discussed.When writing this translation report,a variety of translation methods and strategies are used,which are specifically divided into annotation method,borrowing method,free translation method,etc.The text is analyzed from three levels of vocabulary,syntax and text,which are specifically divided into methods such as transliteration plus annotation and free translation,logical reconstruction,and splitting and combining.Through the translation of this novel,the translator summarized practical translation methods and research strategies,so that the target readers can accurately understand the original text,thereby achieving cross-cultural communication. |
