A Vocabulary Study Of Zhumadian Dialect In Henan Province

Zhumadian city is located in the central and southern part of Henan Province.According to the "Atlas of Chinese Language（2nd Edition）",Zhumadian dialect area belongs to the Luotuo section of Zhongyuan mandarin area.This thesis collects and collates the survey glossary of Zhumadian dialect（4047 entries）by field investigation method,describes and analyzes zhumadian dialect vocabulary with the theory of dialectology and lexicology,and reveals the characteristics of zhumadian dialect vocabulary in components,syllables,structure,meaning and other aspects.This thesis is divided into seven parts including introduction and conclusion.The introduction part sorts out the general situation of Zhumadian and dialects,sorts out the relevant research overview of the topic,briefly introduces the theoretical and practical significance,theoretical basis and research methods of this thesis,and makes supplementary explanations in four specific aspects.The first part introduces the components of zhumadian dialect vocabulary.The vocabulary of Zhumadian dialect consists of basic vocabulary,dialect characteristic words,archaic words and loanwords.Dialect words reflect all aspects of Zhumadian area;Due to its advantageous geographical location and profound historical background,zhumadian dialect retains abundant archaic words.Compared with dialect characteristic words and archaic words,the number of loanwords is small,but the etymology of these loanwords is very rich.The second part is the syllable study of zhumadian dialect vocabulary.The vocabularies of Zhumadian dialect can be divided into monosyllabic words,dissyllabic words and polysyllabic words.by sorting them out and analyzing their syllable characteristics,this thesis summarizes the syllable characteristics of Zhumadian dialect,such as the great difference in the number and distribution of syllables,the absolute dominance of dissyllabic words and the large proportion of polysyllabic words.The third part is the study of the structure of zhumadian dialect vocabulary.The morpheme selection of zhumadian dialect words is different from that of Putonghua words.There are three forms of word formation in Zhumadian dialect: compound,overlapping and additive.This thesis summarizes the structural characteristics of zhumadian dialect vocabulary,such as less duplication,more additionality and higher consistency between common affixes and Putonghua.The fourth part is the research on the meaning of zhumadian dialect words.Compared with Mandarin,the rational meaning of zhumadian dialect vocabulary is enlarged and reduced.The color meaning of Zhumadian dialect vocabulary includes emotional color,stylistic color and image color.This thesis concludes that zhumadian dialect vocabulary has the characteristic of strong historical color and obvious meaning enlargement.The fifth part is the comparison between zhumadian dialect vocabulary and Mandarin vocabulary.It includes comparison of similarities and differences in the number of syllables,word formation,meaning and word formation.The conclusion part summarizes the content of this thesis and summarizes the characteristics of zhumadian dialect vocabulary.
