Research On Marxist Urban Thought

Although Marxist theory was formed the labor movement in the early 19^thcentury,after a long period of practical test,it has been fully proved the depth of its thought and the eternity of theoretical value.Even in contemporary society,using Marxism to guide the development of modern society and urban construction is still of great practical significance.Marxist theory points out that the formation of the city is the product of the development of the level of social productive forces to a certain stage,and the social division of labor tends to be complicated,intensive and systematic.According to this theory,with the higher and higher development level of modern social productivity and the more complex social division of labor,cities will further develop in scale,structure and function structure.As long as the direction and the trend of city can be recognized and grasped,the construction of the city can be guided by the scientific thought as the theory.From the perspective of historical development and social evolution,Marxist theory explained all aspects of the causes,operation principles,internal structure and constituent elements of urban formation.Marx’s time was the beginning of the industrialization of western society.Large machine production gave birth to a large number of densely populated,industrial and commercial cities,which provided Marx with ideal materials for studying urban economy and society。Therefore,Marx’s profound philosophical and dialectical thinking made it reach a height in urban essential cognition that previous philosophers were out of reach,which not only made the research results of urban problems in Marxist theory perform important theoretical value in the 19th century,but also show eternal practical guiding significance nowadays.The use of Marxist theory to guide the development of urbanization in China is a meaningful attempt to guide the construction of cities in reality,as well as a a positive measure for promoting the contemporary development of Marxist theory.Based on the realities of urban construction in China,this paper investigates the cities and studies the problems of urban construction and development in China from the perspective of Marxist theory.It is expected that the scientific development of Chinese cities will be realized by instructing the urban construction planning with scientific ideas.The content of this paper can be divided into six parts:first,the introduction,focusing on the reasons for this paper,the significance of this paper,presents the current situation and theoretical development of urban thought researches at home and abroad.The second chapter,the urban thought of the classical Marxist writers,summarized and combed the theoretical ideas and main works of Marx,Engels,Lenin,Mao Zedong and so on in the study of urban problems.The third chapter,the current situation of contemporary Marxist urban thought research,analyzed the part of urban thought of David Harvey based on the Marxist theory of Carster,explored the the development of Marxist urban thought in the West,and summarized the contributions of the contemporary development of Marxist urban thought from various angles of different scholars..The fourth chapter,the contemporary value of Marxist urban thought.Starting from the contemporary social development and urban construction,this chapter discussed the significance of applying the research of urban problems in Marxist theory to guide the construction and development of contemporary cities,analyzes the contemporary turning of Marxist theory,and describes how to adopt Marxist thought in contemporary urban construction,and discusses the realistic path of Marx’s urban thought guiding the construction of urban-rural integration in China.The conclusion part summarizes the research content of this paper,and puts forward the prospect of the application and development of Marxist theoretical urban thought in guiding the urban construction of our country in the future.
