In October 2017,the report of the 19 th National People’s Congress of the communist party of China(CPC)proposed to "Strongly implement the strategy of rural revitalization ".In October 2018,the CPC central committee and the state council issued the 《Strategic Plan for Rural Revitalization(2018-2022)》,which made phased plans for the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy and further clarified the objectives,tasks and overall requirements of rural revitalization.Since then,a "research fever" about "Rural Revitalization" followed.The proposal of the rural revitalization strategy has brought new opportunities for the development of rural adult education.Therefore,how to develop rural adult education has become a hot topic for many researchers.However,there are relatively few achievements in the existing research about adult education promoting rural development.Based on this,this study focuses on the promotion of rural development by adult education.Based on the method of case study,the more representative Yanbei village in Pingxiang City was selected as the case.Through participatory observations and in-depth interviews,reveals the current situation,effect and existing problems of adult education in Yanbei Village to promote rural development,and then explores strategies for adult education in Yanbei Village to promote rural development.The study found that adult education has effectively promoted the development of Yanbei Village.Adult formal education trains high-quality talents for rural development;Adult non-formal education provides skills support for rural development;Informal learning promotes the self-improvement of rural people’s quality.Adult education brings more obvious effect to rural development,the first is to help the village and the civilization,and the appearance of the village is gradually improved;the second is to promote economic development,and the income of the villagers is gradually increasing;the third is to help rural governance and improve the rural construction.Adult education in Yanbei Village has four highlights in promoting rural development: The first is the power of example to realize the imperceptible appeal;The second is to embed rural colleges to make training easy to obtain;The third is to learn through interaction and create immersive experiences;The fourth is perception in practice,which has the mechanics earnest practice.Of course,adult education in Yanbei Village has related problems in promoting rural development.From the perspective of adult formal education,the coverage of "one college student in one village" plan is not enough;From the perspective of adult non-formal education,the design of the training system needs to be improved;From the perspective of informal learning,villagers’ awareness of active learning is not strong.Based on the above findings,in order to give full play to the function and value of adult education and promote the sustained and steady development of rural areas,this study proposes relevant strategies for the development of adult education in Yanbei Village: firstly,give full play to the leading role of the government’s public policies to promote the all-round development of the countryside.On the one hand,enrich rural adult education resources,on the other hand,actively cultivate new type of vocational farmers.Secondly,at the village committee level,comprehensively strengthen rural governance,serve rural revitalization and development,do a good job in rural humanities education,strengthen the construction of rural customs and folk customs,optimize rural governance mechanisms,and create an atmosphere of mutual learning and education.Thirdly,from the level of Cadre College,to adapt to multiple roles and change the support mechanism,we should not only improve the professional level,strengthen the teaching staff,but also improve the training system and devote ourselves to technical assistance.Finally,the villagers themselves should give full play to their subjective initiative,actively participate in rural construction,change traditional concepts,cultivate the awareness of active learning,face up to learning needs,and adhere to the concept of lifelong learning.
