| Happiness is the ultimate goal of all human behavior.With the rapid development of China’s economy and the continuous enhancement of overall national strength,the personal happiness of Chinese residents cannot be matched with it.National happiness is affected by a variety of factors.Among them,the impact of work on happiness is receiving more and more attention from academics and society.This article takes subjective well-being and happiness as the evaluation criteria,and uses the 2016 Chinese Labor Dynamics Survey Data(CLDS)to take employees as the research object,establish an ordered Probit model and an OLS model,and based on the Samuelson’s formula for happiness,combining The law of diminishing marginal effects and the need for hierarchy theory to reveal the determining mechanism of the effect of working hours on happiness.Not only verified the inverted U-shaped relationship between working hours and happiness(short working hours or long working hours are not conducive to happiness,and moderate working hours are beneficial to maximize happiness),but also combined with hot topics in recent time to discuss the impact of "996 work schedule " on happiness.At the same time,the effect of the interaction between employees’ wages and working hours on happiness is also considered,that is,wages have a moderating effect on the impact of working hours on happiness(including interaction with working hours and the square of working hours).When the wage is at a low level,the inverted U-shaped relationship between the employee’s working time and happiness is obvious;when the wage belongs to a certain intermediate level,the monotonous negative relationship between the employee’s working time and happiness is obvious;When wages are in the higher range,employees’ working hours and happiness turn into a positive U-shaped relationship.On this basis,pay attention to occupational heterogeneity and regional heterogeneity to conduct more detailed group comparison studies.Finally,using the analysis of mediation effects,it is revealed that the impact of working hours on happiness is a series mechanism rather than a parallel mechanism composed of channels of desire expansion and utility acquisition channels,resulting in changes in employee happiness.Finally,based on the empirical analysis results of this article,I make relevant suggestions: 1.Standardize the time labor law and establish a scientific outlook on labor;2.Maintain the basic rights and interests of employees and balance career pay and return;3.Establish an efficiency guide,employee happiness and corporate development coexist. |
