A Study On The Influence Of Quality Of Employment On The Subjective Well-being Of The Residents

Happiness is the eternal pursuit of mankind.Since the reform and opening up,China's economic development and the income level of its residents have made great strides,the people's livelihood guarantee system has been gradually established and spiritual and cultural life has been continuously enriched.People now have a high sense of happiness.However,along with the economic growth,the quality of employment in our country has obviously lagged behind.The problems of informal employment,low labor remuneration,long working hours and poor working conditions have been highlighted.The quality of employment has become an important factor affecting people's happiness experience.In this context,the relationship between the well-being of residents and the quality of employment should be given priority and preliminary research is needed to provide feasible suggestions for improving people's employment quality and happiness.Based on the review of relevant literatures and analysis of the current status of employment quality,this paper uses the CGSS2015 data to evaluate the impact of employment quality on happiness by using an ordered probit model.The conclusions are as follows:(1)The quality of employment has a significant impact on subjective well-being.When considering the objective criteria for measuring the quality of employment,the work income,working hours and participation in health insurance have a significant impact.Controlling other variables.The higher the work income,the happier people are;the longer they work,the less happy they are;the more they participate in health insurance than the less happy ones.Under the subjective standard,job satisfaction significantly enhances the sense of happiness;the three sub-variables,job satisfaction,income sense of justice and job autonomy also have significant effects.(2)The impact of objective quality of employment on the happiness is heterogeneous.In general,working hours and participation in medical insurance significantly affect the happiness of young people.The income from work has a significant role in promoting the happiness of the elderly.Working income,working hours and participation in health insurance all affect the well-being of the male population,and health insurance can increase well-being of female.Participating in health insurance and working within the system have all enhanced the sense of wellbeing of farmers.Working hours affect the sense of well-being of dependent work units,and participation in health insurance only enhances the sense of well-being of unaffiliated or self-employed groups.
