| Secondary vocational education is an important part of vocational education in China.Under the background of increasing complexity and variety,what is the current situation of students and their family environment in secondary vocational schools?What is the personal impact of the family environment on them?This study,through the investigation of the overall situation of the family environment of the secondary vocational students,analyzes the survey data,so as to obtain the effect of different variables in the family environment on the students’ academic achievement.Before the beginning of the study,the researchers compiled the questionnaire on the Family Environment and academic Achievement of students in Secondary Vocational Schools,after summarizing the relevant literature and combining their practical work experience.The questionnaire was sent to the second graders of nursing,medicament,medical examination,medical cosmetology and so on in a health school in Hainan Province.The data of the family environment of these students were collected.Using Excel and SPSS22.0statistical software package to the survey data input,processing and analysis.The family environment is divided into family background,family economic capital,family culture capital and family social capital.The results showed that the marital status of parents had a significant effect on the academic achievement of secondary vocational school students,while the other variables were not significant in the variables of family background.Family income is the family economic capital which has obvious influence on the academic achievement of secondary vocational school students.In the family culture capital,the family learning resources and father’s education have the most significant influence on the secondary vocational school students’ academic achievement.In this study,family social capital is divided into intra-family social capital and out-of-family social capital,parents’ educational expectations,attitudes and support are the factors that affect the academic achievement of secondary vocational school students.The school participation ofparents is an out-of-family social capital factor that significantly affects the academic achievement of secondary vocational school students.Finally,this study puts forward some suggestions from government,school,family and students in order to help secondary vocational school students get rid of the negative influence of family environment and improve their academic achievement. |
