A healthy psychological state is the prerequisite for children to carry out various activities in their lives.A plenty of surveys have shown that special children are more likely to suffer from negative psychological problems such as sensitivity,inferiority and impulsivity due to their own obstacles.Therefore,it is necessary to provide more systematic mental health education support for them.Offering structured mental health education courses is an efficient form of maintaining children’s mental health.However,in the field of special education,the number of mental health education courses developed according to the physical and psychological characteristics and development needs for special children is relatively small and it also faces many difficulties in the implementation process.Game-curriculum is a course mode that integrates game elements with the course,brings the ontic value of game into the course objective,and takes the game itself as the course content.This study adopts action research methods to develop mental health educational game-curriculum that suitable for special children in Grade 3 and Grade 4of primary school.It intends to solve "what kind of game-curriculum content is suitable for special children’s mental health education in Grade 3 and Grade 4 of primary school","which type of teaching design can guarantee the effectiveness of game-curriculum that improve the mental health of special children in Grade 3 and Grade 4 of primary school" as well as “whether the game-curriculum of mental health education can have a positive impact on the mental status of special children in Grade 3and Grade 4 of primary school”.The conclusions of the study are drawn as follows:1.The research forms a two-dimensional theoretical conception of special children’s mental health framework,including five areas of mental activity —self-awareness,learning adaptation,interpersonal communication,life adaptation,and social support;and three psychological trait areas of cognition,emotion,and will.They are suitable to being used as a theoretical basis for the psychological health education of special children.2.It develops a curriculum plan of games-curriculum of mental health education for special children that bases on the two-dimensional theoretical conception of special children’s mental health structure.The curriculum plan includes five activity area dimensions objective and its content has fifteen topics including “the unique of me,self-confidence,and self-control” and so on.The teaching procedure of gamecurriculum is "introduction,game preparation,game implementation and summary”.The evaluation of curriculum is conducted by teachers’ self-evaluation,peer evaluation and students’ self-evaluation.3.The research explores the feasible strategies for the implementation of mental health game-curriculum for special children.Firstly,based on the theoretical conception and the needs of students,the method of "disassemble" is used to transform the course objectives into operable teaching objectives.Secondly,make full use of preparation strategy,guidance strategy,management strategy and individualized teaching strategy to improve the quality of game courses.4.It shows that game-curriculum has a positive influence on students’ mental health through the survey.It is found that the rate of how much students like and their participations are constantly increased with the improvement of the course.Furthermore,the self-confidence,willingness to communicate and learning enthusiasm of some students have been significantly enhanced and they also can apply some behaviors to their lives.The research puts forward the following suggestions for the development of mental health education game-courses in special education schools:1.Develop targeted curriculum in terms of teaching goals.The determination of goals has to not only have a theoretical basis but also considers the students’ capacity and development needs.2.Ensure a good game experience for students.On one hand,it is important to make sure the safety of the game;on the other hand,it is necessary to create a respectful,acceptable and sincere game environment for students.3.Treat students as the most important subject.Promote teaching activities by utilizing students’ ability advantages and generative resources that generated through the games.
