Extracurricular activities refer to purposeful and planned teaching activities organized by educators outside classroom teaching according to social development and the actual needs of the educated.With the advancement of quality education,the introduction of the slogan "Reducing Burdens" and the reform of the working hours system,primary school students in my country only spend about 190 days a year in school,and their extracurricular time has greatly increased,providing students with time and space for independent development.Extracurricular activities are an important way to implement quality education in an all-round way.The purpose,content and quality of their development play an important role in the development of students’ physical and mental health.However,some rural schools are restricted by the local economic development level and living environment,and the development of extracurricular activities is seriously hindered,which is not conducive to the comprehensive and harmonious development of rural students.This article takes the extracurricular activities of rural primary schools in Gushi County as the research object,and investigates the current situation of extracurricular activities in rural primary schools in Gushi County through questionnaires,interviews,and observations,and finds that the rural primary schools in Gushi County exist during the extracurricular activities.Many problems: teachers and students and parents do not have a clear understanding of extracurricular activities;the school infrastructure is weak and the available resources are limited;the content of the activities is monotonous and the organization and management capabilities are lacking;teachers are under pressure and their professional quality needs to be improved.Through the analysis of the above problems,it is found that the reasons for the poor performance of extracurricular activities in rural primary schools in Gushi County are: strong test-oriented education concepts;the impact of funding and management models;the constraints of school management mechanisms;the economic level and living conditions of rural areas limit.In response to the above problems and reasons,this article proposes corresponding countermeasures from the following four aspects,and strives to promote the smooth development of extracurricular activities in rural primary schools.First,correct the perception of extracurricular activities and increase the degree of attention;second,improve the efficiency of rural primary school funding use and enhance material security;third,improve the management level of rural primary school extracurricular activities and enrich the content of activities;fourth,regulate rural primary schools Teacher pressure to improve professional quality.
