Under the background of information technology,as a new form of media,smart phone has been deeply involved in our life and work,and gradually applied in the field of education and teaching.As the Ministry of Education proposed to promote the deep integration of information technology and teaching,the application of smart phone in teaching,as a new path of the integration of information technology and teaching,is particularly necessary.Through the analysis of relevant literature,this study generalizes the present state of the current study and research of the concepts involved in theory,which lays the foundation for the further development of the article.After that,the present situation of smartphone application in the teaching of four middle schools in X city is investigated,and the frequency,method,effect and advantages and disadvantages of smartphone teaching are investigated by questionnaire and interview.It is found that there are some problems in the application of smart phone in middle school teaching: there are still teachers who do not use smart phone teaching,the utilization rate of mobile phone in classroom teaching is low;the application function of smart phone in teaching is single,such as frequent use of network search,communication function assignment,and lack of development and utilization of functions such as simulation experiment and animation teaching,etc.Besides the application method is unreasonable,the effect is not ideal,and the application effect between disciplines is uneven.An in-depth analysis of the reasons reveals that the reasons are caused by teachers’ lack of scientific understanding of the application of smart phones in teaching,teachers’ weak information teaching ability,low innovation ability,schools’ insufficient support for the application of smart phones in teaching,students’ poor self-control ability and lack of concentration,etc.Based on the analysis,some suggestions are put forward for the application of smart phones in middle school teaching.As for teachers,they should change their teaching philosophy,maintain the idea of lifelong learning,improve their innovation ability,face the social changes with a positive attitude,and make their teaching methods keep up with the development of the times.In the aspect of school,to increase the investment to infrastructure,a complete coverage of the wireless network,timely improve the hardware facilities,create the good information learning environment.At the same time,we should strengthen the training of teachers’ information teaching,establish a perfect training system,strictly screen the training content,and pay attention to the cultivation of teachers’ practical operation ability in smartphone teaching.As for students,they should improve the understanding of information learning,change the view that "smart phone is just an entertainment tool ",cooperate with teachers to use smart phones for teaching actively and improve their self-control.
