In recent years,our country’s economic development has entered a phase of a phase of rapid growth,Tourism has also entered a period of high-quality development,Tourists’ requirements for the service quality of tourism are becoming more and more personalized and diversified.And the professional requirements of tourism practitioners are increasing day by day.So,tour guide language is a powerful tool to complete tour guide service,the ability level of tour guides will have an important impact on the quality of tourists’ travel.The guide service students as the reserve talents for the future tour guide posts,the level of their language ability will greatly affect their future employment prospects,Therefore,to improve the language ability of guide service major students plays an important role in enhancing the core competitiveness of students’ future employment.In order to cultivate and develop students’ language ability,First,we should understand the development level of their language ability,and evaluate their language ability.This research takes the tour guide service major students as the research object.Then,this research combines the theoretical analysis and empirical research to their language assess and linguistic competence.This research mainly answers the following two research questions: How to build a language assessment scale for the guide service major students? How about the language proficiency of the students? In order to solve the above problems,this research is based on Bachmann’s communicative language competency model,self-efficacy,and constructivist learning concept,by using the methods of literature analysis,questionnaire survey,interview and statistical analysis to carry out empirical analysis and research.The main research work and results are as follows:(1)Based on the analysis of domestic and foreign literature research,this research combines empirical research to constructs the language ability evaluation scale of guide service major students.It includes five dimensions: basic ability,listening ability,reading ability,explaining ability and writing ability,with a total of 25 item.The rationality of the scale was verified,including reliability analysis,exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis.(2)The results show that 90.99% of the total sample size are on the "good" level,which is above the average level,but there still has room for the further improvement.And the school location,different majors and gender differences have no significant impact on students’ language ability,but the attitudes of different grades and groups have significant impact on students’ language ability.(3)Through the evaluation results and interview content,this paper finds out the reasons that affect the students’ language ability,and then puts forward improvement suggestions from the five aspects of basic ability,listening ability,reading ability,explanation ability and writing ability,so as to improve the students’ language ability and their core competitiveness.
