At the beginning of 2020,Due to the impact of the COVID-19,schools at all levels nationwide postponed the opening of school,and the Ministry of Education issued a call to"ensuring learning undisrupted when classes are disrupted",online teaching became the preferred teaching method instead of offline teaching,which ushered in a huge development opportunity.In this context,the online teaching of high school ideology and politics has,to a certain extent,ensured the teaching schedule,enhanced the attractiveness of the curriculum,stimulated learning interest,and promoted personalized teaching,providing a new opportunity and a strong impetus for curriculum reform and innovation.As an emerging teaching method,online teaching has obvious advantages over traditional classroom teaching in many aspects,but in the process of large-scale implementation of online teaching in high school ideology and politics class,some shortcomings and deficiencies have been exposed,which affect the effectiveness of online teaching in high school ideology and politics class.As a result,the"what","how","why" and "how" of online teaching in high school ideology and politics class has become an urgent issue to be discussed."This is the focus of this thesis.In response to these questions,this thesis addresses four aspects:The first chapter: "what"-building a theoretical framework.In the introductory section,we introduce the background of the topic and the significance of the study to clarify the value of the study;review the domestic and international literature studies to draw on the research results;explain the research ideas and methods to clarify the research lineage;analyze the research innovations and shortcomings to reflect on the strengths and weaknesses.The first chapter defines the core concept of the effectiveness of online teaching in high school ideology and politics,and identifies the theoretical connotation and extension;it discusses the basis of the study from both theoretical and practical aspects,and then casts a firm theoretical and practical foundation for this study.The second chapter: "how"-captures the state of practice.In Chapter 2,through a questionnaire survey for students and personal interviews for teachers in X high school,we learn about teachers’ and students’ attitudes and perceptions toward online teaching in high school ideology and politics class,participation level,teaching effectiveness,problems,and opinions and suggestions,etc.Subsequently,we conduct an in-depth analysis of the questionnaire data and interview results,and provide data and research on the current situation,problems,and countermeasures for studying the effectiveness of online teaching in high school ideology and politics class.The results of the questionnaire data and interviews were then analyzed in depth to provide data and factual support for the study of the current situation,problems,and countermeasures of the effectiveness of online teaching in high school political science classes.The third chapter: "why"-analysis of the causes of the problem.Based on theoretical constructs and empirical research,Chapter 3 summarizes the factors influencing the effectiveness of online teaching in high school ideology and politics classes into six dimensions: teaching content,teaching methods,teaching environment,teachers,students,and teaching evaluation.After clarifying the problems of the effectiveness of online teaching in high school ideology and politics classes,we analyze the causes of the problems and try to trace the root of the problems and find the right remedy.Finally,"how to do it"-propose solution strategies.Chapter 4 proposes targeted solution strategies on the basis of the above research,exploring methods and approaches to enhance the effectiveness of online teaching in high school ideology and politics class from several aspects,including optimizing teaching content,innovating teaching forms,optimizing teaching environment,improving teachers’ competence and quality,helping students learn effectively,and improving teaching evaluation system.It is hoped that it can help break the shackles,break the bottlenecks and improve the effectiveness of online teaching in high school ideology and politics class.
