The Influence Of Middle School Students’ Negative Physical Self On Self-efficacy:the Intermediary Effect Of Self-esteem

Negative body self refers to the negative cognition of the body,the negative emotional experience and the corresponding behavior control,which is the study of the body self from the negative orientation.By using the method of questionnaire and interview research,this paper investigates the present situation of negative body self,self-esteem and self-efficacy of rural middle school students,and probes into the relationship between them.In this paper,the students of Lanzhou College of Arts and Sciences were randomly selected as the subjects,and the negative body self-scale(NPSS),self-esteem scale(SES)and self-efficacy scale(SCCS)were used as research tools to investigate the questionnaire,and the effective questionnaire was analyzed by different statistical methods.And further selected four high-negative body self-rural middle school students as the interview object,conducted an interview study.The following results are obtained:(1)The negative body self of middle school students is at a healthy level,with the degree of dissatisfaction from high to low:short,appearance,fat thin,overall.(2)There are significant gender differences in the negative body self of middle school students in the overall,fat,thin and low four dimensions,there are regional differences in the overall dimension,and there are significant grade differences in the fat dimension.(3)The self-esteem level of middle school students is better,the level of self-efficacy of middle school students is in the normal range,and there are all significant differences in gender.(4)There was a significant positive correlation between the negative body self and self-efficacy of middle school students,and a significant negative correlation with self-esteem.There was a significant negative correlation between self-efficacy and self-esteem among middle school students.(5)Self-esteem plays a part of the role of intermediary between the negative self and self-efficacy of the body,and the negative body self indirectly influences the sense of self-efficacy through the intermediary effect of self-esteem.(6)The interview results show that there are gender differences in the cognition of physical appearance of middle school students.Students with a high negative physical self rated the evaluation of others as very important to them.Both boys and girls believe that having a good body and good looks is more socially acceptable.Most of the middle school students would not choose to change their appearance through plastic surgery.How to help and guide the modern middle school students to understand the appearance correctly and cultivate the diversified aesthetics has become a problem worth thinking about in the educational work.
