In this study,the social work practice issues of psychological well-being enhancement of urban empty nest elderly.Relevant domestic and international literature was read extensively,which could as well as semi-structured interviews,participant observation,and scale measurement of some urban empty nesters in community A of Binzhou City.The current situation,problems and causes of psychological well-being of urban empty nesters were analyzed in depth,and a narrative therapy model under casework was used to intervene in order to assess the effectiveness of the narrative therapy model in enhancing the psychological well-being of urban empty nesters.The psychological well-being of urban empty nesters is mainly reflected in the poor self-acceptance,lack of goals in life,lack of positive interpersonal relationships,and poor control of environmental vitality,due to the irreversible decline of physical functions,the psychological gap between "workers" and "useless",the lack of companionship of spouses and children,and the lack of community activities.To address the psychological well-being of urban empty nesters,the use of narrative therapy model to intervene with the clients can be effective.By establishing a professional relationship with the service recipients,using various ways to assess their problems,formulating a corresponding intervention plan according to the assessment status,and using the narrative therapy model to externalize the problems and story reconstruction techniques to intervene,the service recipients’ bad emotions and negative perceptions are changed,their problem-solving abilities are improved,social support networks are built,and the service recipients’ own values are explored to enhance their psychological well-being.
