The reform of the new college entrance examination system determines that it is urgent to improve the career planning ability of high school students.High school students are in a period of exploration of career development,and the development of their career planning ability has become urgent.In the context of the new crown epidemic,life education is also extremely important,past studies have only explored the importance of mental health and learning motivation from the perspective of the meaning in life,and meaning in life,as a sense of value,is equally important for the future career development of high school students,and the achievement motivation and career self-efficacy as an important resource within the individual will also affect their development status.This study surveyed students from seven high schools in Sichuan Province,and a total of 1634 questionnaires were distributed,and 1607 valid questionnaires were obtained.Analyze the meaning in life,the achievement motivation,the career selfefficacy,the current situation of the career planning ability,and the correlation between the variables.The results show that:1.The meaning in life and the career self-efficacy of ordinary high school students in Sichuan Province are at the upper middle level,and the achievement motivation and career planning ability are at a medium level;2.Demographic differences showed that:(1)there were significant differences in the two dimensions of high school students’ career planning ability,sense of meaning,achievement motivation and career self-efficacy,and the second grade was generally lower;(2)boys’ career planning ability,achievement motivation and career selfefficacy were significantly higher than those of girls,and girls’ sense of seeking meaning was significantly higher than that of boys;(3)the only child’s career planning ability,meaning in life,achievement motivation and career self-efficacy were significantly higher than those of non-only children,however,The motivation of non-only children to avoid failure is significantly higher than that of only children;(4)there is no significant difference between the career planning ability and the meaning in life of liberal arts and science students,and the achievement motivation and career self-efficacy of liberal arts and science students are significantly higher than those of unspecified students;(5)the career planning ability,meaning in life,achievement motivation and career self-efficacy of students who have studied career courses are significantly higher than those of students who have not studied,and the score of failure avoidance motivation of students who have not studied career courses is significantly higher than that of students who have studied;3.The meaning in life has a significant positive predictive effect on the career planning ability of ordinary high school students;4.Achievement motivation mediates between the meaning in life and the career planning ability;5.Career self-efficacy mediates between the meaning in life and the career planning ability;6.The chain mediating effect of achievement motivation and career self-efficacy between meaning in life and career planning ability.
