Spiritual Comfort Study Of City Elderly Who Lose Only Child

In recent years,due to disease and other force majeure factors,the scale of the elderly who lose only child in society has been expanding.In addition to suffering from the loss of children,these elderly people must also face the plight of spirit and material.Although the state and the government have issued a series of help policies,they are more focused on the material help of the elderly who have lost only child.Therefore,it is very important to care for the elderly,provide them with spiritual support,alleviate the pain of losing their children and guide them to live actively.This study takes how to meet the spiritual needs of the elderly who lost their only child as the starting point,tries to take the ecosystem theory,Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory and social support theory as the guidance,and takes the 12 elderly who live in D community as the research object in the care family-planning special family social work service project.Through face-to-face interviews with them to understand their problems and needs,and choose one of the elderly who have lost only child as a typical case for case intervention.During the process of intervention,we analyze the mental distress of the victim as a guide and companion,and find ways and means to relieve the sadness,anxiety and self-blame of the victim,and the practical experience is extended to the group to benefit other elderly people who live in D community and lose only child.The involvement of group work not only improves work efficiency,but also helps them within the group to reconstruct the social support network.Through mutual support and mutual help among team members,let the elderly who lose only child gain courage and strength to get out of the spiritual predicament.The practical process strictly takes "helping others to help themselves" as the basic purpose,follows the ethical principles of social work,through the intervention of social workers to break the state of self-closure and self-isolation of the elderly who have lost only child,allows them to re-participate in community activities,reintegrate into society,and establish a positive and healthy attitude to face future life.
