The application of GIS technology conforms to the requirements of compulsory Education Geography Curriculum Standards, and this paper carries out research under the premise of taking this as programmatic guidance. In the study, this paper applies case analysis method, investigation method and other methods to carry out the study based on the cognitive learning theory and information processing theory.By analyzing some cases, this paper discusses the problems and solutions of THE application of GIS technology in geography classroom teaching. The main research results of this paper are as follows:(1)Through the analysis of related theoretical foundations, cognitive learning theory, information processing theory and constructivist theory are the important theoretical foundations supporting the application of geographic information technology in junior high school geography teaching.By analyzing the basic functions of GIS applied to junior high school geography teaching, combining the teaching objectives of junior high school geography curriculum and the characteristics of teaching materials and the learning characteristics of junior high school students, the feasibility of applying GIS technology to junior high school geography classroom teaching is analyzed, and its advantages of improving teachers’ quality and students’ learning interest in geography are also included.(2)In view of the characteristics of geographic teaching in junior high school, the article clarifies the principle of selecting teaching content in the process of applying GIS technology to junior high school geographic teaching, analyze the basis for selecting teaching content.Combining the characteristics of junior high school geographic curriculum,it also analyses the typical contents of the teaching materials with the application of GIS technology in the junior high school geographic curriculum, including basic map drawing, spatial query and simulation demonstration.(3)In order to better strengthen the application of GIS technology in junior high school geographic teaching and analyze the main present problems, the article investigates and analyzes the application of GIS technology to junior high school geographic teaching.Through a questionnaire survey of 100 school administrators, education administrative departments and front-line teachers, the results show that: in terms of resource supply, funding and awareness,60.34% of the surveyed respondents believe that there is a serious shortage of resource supply in the application environment of GIS technology;65.51% of people feel that there is a serious vacancy in funding and the support continues to decline;52.41% of people feel that school leaders have not paid high attention to it.In terms of GIS technology application environment support efficiency,39.32% of teachers believe that the environment is basically consistent with actual needs, but 48.62% of teachers believe that it is far from enough;34.48% of teachers believe that resources are basically consistent with actual needs, and 58.93% don’t believe so.Only 6.89% think they are completely consistent but the resources cannot be effectively guaranteed. In terms of education policy publicity, although 47.58% of the respondents believe that the school has basically implemented relevant policies at higher levels,37.32% of the respondents still believe that the school’s publicity to support the use of information technology in geographic courses has not received much attention and good implementation. At the same time,26.4% of the respondents believe that the application of GIS technology has caused a sharp increase in personal pressure, and 27.5% of the respondents believe that the application of GIS technology extends the teaching hours, and therefore the teaching burden on teachers is heavier.(4)Taking the textbook of the People’s Education Edition as an example, the three parts of "Humanity’s Inhabited Place-Settlement","Continents and Oceans" and "America" were selected for teaching case designing. In each case teaching case, the curriculum standards, teaching materials, students and the teaching goals and teaching strategies are analyzed. In the process of teaching planning, through the links of scenario creation, basic learning, case exploration, etc.,GIS technology is fully used in junior high school geographic teaching, and cases how GIS assists junior high school geographic teaching are analyzed. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of GIS technology applied to junior high school geographic teaching, the method of comparative experiment was adopted and the evaluation was conducted through 4monthly examinations. The evaluation results show that, compared with traditional teaching methods, applying GIS technology to junior high school geographic teaching, the high score rate and excellent rate of the experimental class reached 11% and 22%,which were significantly higher than the 9% and 19% of the control class. In terms of the spatial visualization function of GIS to promote the effective establishment of students’ geospatial concepts, the experimental class was weaker than the control class in the first two monthly exams from about 2% to 3% better than the control class;in the aspect of the data editing management function to realize the sharing of teaching resources by using GIS,on the one hand,in the first three monthly exams, the control class is 4%-5% better than the experimental class, but in the fourth time, the experimental class surpasses the control class by 3%;the spatial analysis function of GIS trains students to analyze In terms of abilities on geographic issues,in the first three tests, the control class and the experimental class had certain fluctuations, and in the fourth test, the experimental class was significantly better than the control class by3%.Therefore,applying GIS technology to junior high school geographic teaching will help enhance teaching effects. The evaluation concluded that the spatial visualization function of GIS helps students to effectively establish geospatial concepts, the data editing and management function of GIS helps to realize the sharing of teaching resources, and the spatial analysis function of GIS helps to cultivate students’ ability to analyze geographic problems, the thematic map function of GIS contributes to the multi-form presentation of geographic teaching content, and the three-dimensional visualization function of GIS helps to improve students’ learning enthusiasm.Aiming at the problems of insufficient external environment support, urgent need to strengthen the construction of infrastructure conditions, insufficient policy propaganda, and excessive teaching burden of teachers, targeted solutions are proposed. The proposed countermeasures provide a good reference for the application of information technology in the front-line geographic teaching in junior high school, and that is,the effective application of geographic information technology in continuous improvement. |
