This research systematically discusses the problems of the rationality application of educational punishment in high grade of primary school.In combination with the system of "Rules on Educational Punishment for Primary and Secondary School Students(Trial)" and the theoretical basis of educational punishment such as legal,pedagogical,psychological and ethical aspects,the concept of rational application of educational punishment is defined.At the same time,variables are set to measure the rational application of educational punishment,and the status quo of the rational application of educational punishment in high grade of primary schools is studied from the aspects of punishment methods,punishment intensity,punishment occasions,punishment frequency and punishment effects.To investigate the differences in understanding of the rational application of educational punishment among students with different genders,family backgrounds,personality characteristics and academic achievements,and provide theoretical guidance with practical significance for the rational application of educational punishment in high grade of primary school.A total of 429 valid questionnaires were collected from some teachers and students in grade five to six of N primary schools in Mudanjiang city,and SPSS20.0 software was used to conduct statistical analysis on the survey data.The results show that the rational application of educational punishment in high grade of primary school is not ideal,teachers’ improper way of implementing educational punishment,teachers do not grasp the strength of educational punishment,teachers do not pay attention to occasions when they impose educational punishment,teachers are negative attitude in implementing educational punishment.There are significant differences in the disciplinary methods among students of different genders,in the effect of punishment among students with different personality characteristics,in disciplinary occasions among students with different academic performance.There is no difference among students from different family backgrounds.Based on the above research results,this study makes an in-depth analysis of the rational application of educational punishment in high grade of primary school.In order to ensure the reasonable implementation of educational punishment in high grade of primary school,schools should supervise and guide teachers to implement educational punishment,formulate school discipline and class rules scientifically,and provide a basis for the implementation of educational punishment.Teachers should improve their legal accomplishment and correctly understand educational punishment.Abide by the principle of educational punishment to ensure the rationality of implementation,change the concept of educational punishment and improve the professional quality of teachers,guide teachers’ bad emotions to avoid the occurrence of disciplinary misconduct.The society should set up educational supervision institutions and build a comprehensive supervision system.We should guide social media correctly and create a good environment for public opinion,so as to provide valuable reference for the rational application of educational punishment in high grade of primary school.
