Located at the heart of Grand Canal, the Shandong section of the Grand Canal is an important part of the Grand Canal cultural heritage and the crystallization of the wisdom of ancient Chinese people.Because of the canal construction and the rise of the canal transportation, the prosperous canal settlement is an important part of the canal heritage.People rely on the region's landscape base to choose a site to build a settlement.Under the intertexture of the natural environment and the profound human environment, with the development of canal settlement and the formation of regional canal settlement landscape, the canal settlement landscape formed in the interaction between man and nature has its own unique historical and cultural value and ecological civilization value. However,in the background of long historical change and rapid urbanization, the enhancement of artificial intervention and transformation ability has broken the balance between settlement construction and natural environment, and the canal settlement landscape has been greatly impacted. In the face of the urgent need for the protection and utilization of canal culture and the construction of ecological civilization in the new period,it is of great significance to study the landscape system of the settlements of the Grand Canal in the Shandong section of the Grand Canal. In this study, the Shandong section of the Grand Canal and the formation environment of canal settlements is summarized, the scope of urban canal settlements in Shandong section of the Grand Canal is further clarified through the construction of an evaluation and screening system. After selecting 15 urban canal settlements in Shandong section of the Grand Canal, the landscape of urban canal settlements in Shandong section of the Grand Canal is taken as the main research object, from the angle of schema language, using the methods of literature analysis, field investigation, analysis and induction, schema language analysis, with the help of the concept of schema language and its ideological basis,Google Earth,Arc Map 10.6,Global Mapper 14.1,Auto CAD and other related software, the 15 selected canal settlements were processed by schemata and extracted from vocabulary and grammar, and the schemata language system of canal settlements landscape, which was composed of schemata vocabulary and schemata grammar, was constructed on both macro and meso scales, the landscape system of the canal settlement was studied. The urban canal settlement landscape in Shandong section of the Grand Canal,is composed of two levels: regional landscape system and settlement landscape system,in which the regional landscape system covers the elements of “mountain-water-city(town)”,its landscape layout includes two types: plain type and piedmont type, showing the layout law of natural landscape superimposed by artificial management;the settlement landscape system covers five elements: “mountain-water-field-forest-city(town)”,its landscape layout includes three types: cross-river group type,along-river line type and away from river type, which shows the coupling law of natural environment and human environment, and presents a “Bottom-up” layout feature, mainly reflected in the shape and structure, the pattern of streets and lanes, agricultural texture.Through the research of two levels of the canal settlement landscape and the construction of the settlement landscape system, the regional characteristics of the canal settlement landscape are explored,in order to provide certain guidance for the protection and renewal of the canal settlement landscape and the construction of ecological civilization,it provides a reference for the preservation and utilization of the Grand Canal culture.
